Ash is my best friend. When I'm troubled I can talk to him. Or just celebrate the beauty of a Spring morning with him. He teaches me endurance in the face of the storms of life and the changing seasons. Here he is in a rather happy mood, knowing that Winter is past and he can put on his green finery. Can you see the young leaves starting to appear at the end of his branches?

Ashness Bridge is a traditional stone-built bridge on the single-track road from the Borrowdale road to Watendlath. Loads of birds knocking about, spotted a Peregrine but only had small lenses. The last time I was up here I stayed in the bunkhouse and I went up Great Gable for Remberance Sunday a good few years ago. A lot of snow on the ground as I remember.

Blue hour at the old Ashness Jetty, Derwentwater.

The classic shot at Ashness Bridge. Got set up and waited for the sun to move more to my left to hit the rocks and bridge. Not very often you have this place to yourself.

Spent an evening watching the sunset behind Keswick from Ashness Jetty on Derwentwater

Ashness Bridge, just after first light. I I spent about 45mins here, trying to work out a composition i really liked, the flowing water leading to the bridge, then the road carrying on down through the shot, which again was made that bit easier by having nobody else there during the 45mins.

Ashness Bridge is a traditional stone-built bridge on the single-track road from the Borrowdale road to Watendlath, in the English Lake District and is famous for being a fine viewpoint across Borrowdale towards Skiddaw

In the southernmost reaches of Hocking Hills is Ash Cave - beyond doubt the most spectacular feature of the entire park.

The colours are really peaking right now and with rain forecast for the rest of the week I felt I had to get out this morning before it's too late. Thankfully there was a little mist to add a little atmosphere. This is a 4-image stitch.

mature ash getting on with its neighbour.

on 30th March the law to stay at home was lifted and a trip to the Lake District found it very quiet meaning I could get this shot at Ashness Bridge , the place was all to myself for 30 minutes, unheard of on days with weatehr like that

Ashness Jetty on Derwent Water at sunset. This is a popular venue that I had earmarked to visit. On the first evening I couldn't find anywhere to park.On the second evening,it was filled with teenagers .. having a party. On the third evening,it had but one person on it,a photographer from my part of the world - Paul Evans. Two further togs turned up,so it got a bit busy, but Paul gladly stepped aside so I could grab a few shots. Many thanks Paul.In hindsight and with more time,I would have made a longer exposure, but I will go back again in the future. This is my first effort. :-)

Ashness Jetty on Derwent Water, this is the 3rd of the series of shots taken on monday evening. This one just as the fiery sky starts to ease back. I couldn't be here and not do the jetty, but i fancied doing a closer view of the end of the jetty. Derwent Water, Keswick in the Lake District.

Sunset on the last night (Saturday) of our trip to the Lake District..... This Jetty has been photographed to death, but not by me :)

I met Ash the artist and musician on the streets of Bath, we had a great chat about his travels around the world and about New Orleans I place I would love to photograph.

In 2011, these old Monon intermediate searchlights guarded CSX's aptly-named Monon Sub at Ash Grove, just north of Battle Ground, Indiana. They have since been removed.
