Just having fun. Sketched in ArtStudio Pro for iPad.The texture and border were added in Affinity Photo.
Created using Procreate and ArtStudio Pro on M1 iPad Pro using Apple Pencil 2, finishing touches done in Photoshop on Mac Pro (2013). This is the first time I've done a digital painting on the iPad (usually I use Photoshop exclusively). So I was learning the interface and brushes in Procreate and ArtStudio Pro as I went along. I found it is the best way to learn ... I learned that Procreate has the most user friendly interface and usability, but ArtStudio Pro has a far SUPERIOR brush engine ... the responsiveness and subtleness of brushes in ArtStudio Pro is so fantastic and impressive, I'm surprised that everyone raves about Procreate and there is not more mention of ArtStudio Pro. I think the 2 Apps should be used interchangeably, side by side for every project because they each have different strengths that compliment one another and files can be swapped back and forth within seconds using the PSD format.
The only BIG restriction, even using the new 2021 M1 iPad Pro with 16GB RAM and 2TB hard drive is that Apps are currently still restricted to a ceiling of 5GB RAM per App ... this may change when OS 15 is launched later this year. But I always work with high res. files because, at least in Photoshop, the more pixels available, this enables more refined brushwork and adjustments, fewer canvas pixel dimensions results in more pixelated results. I'm assuming it's the same with Procreate and ArtStudio Pro, although I'm not certain.
Procreate restricted me to 24 layers with a canvas size of 5950p x 5029p (ie: 11 x 17 inches @ high print resolution size). ArtStudio Pro seems to allow more layers, but in order to swap the PSD file back and forth between both Apps, I had to keep the layers in ArtStudio Pro down to 24 otherwise when I'd pass it back to Procreate, it wouldn't open and export would "fail".
