First time I see it. It tells how rarely I visit my old town, even though our farm borders it.

Artist Erik Pirolt

It's fun to find old photos and make them one more time now that I'm more confident in Photoshoop.

in the hush between light and shadow, a photographer lifts her camera — not in reflex, but in reckoning. her gaze arcs toward the viewfinder, already composing something just beyond the frame. caught mid-thought, mid-breath, she is both subject and seer. this image holds stillness like a held breath.

I came across a folder of old photos that were meant for portraits. A little fun to make them today almost 20 years after they were taken.

If you want to be photographed, get in touch.

We have been together since 1968. May this summer 1968 we fought the police in the Latin Quarter in Paris. Since then we have calmed down.

in the soft shuffle of city streets, he sits steady as a metronome, a cigar fixed between his teeth, eyes hidden behind the dark certainty of his shades. the hat shades his stories, the leather holds his history, and somewhere in the air between us lingers the faint scent of unspoken decades.

I am fighting a battle against prostate cancer with spread to the lymph nodes. A fight I want to win...

it was one of those cool evenings in portixol when the world felt quiet but alive. friedemann and i had set out with our cameras, chasing light as the day gave way to night. the little harbor glowed faintly, its reflections dancing on the water, like echoes of stories long told.

we met matthias leaning against the railing, hands clasped, smile easy. the kind of smile that draws you in, makes you want to know more. we talked about life, the harbor, the kind of things you say when youâre strangers but feel connected. the city lights shimmered behind him, blurred but bright, casting the scene in a soft hum of energy.

matthias let us take his portrait, no hesitation. he stood there, hoodie pulled up, framed by the twilight and those glowing reflections. his smile stayed, steady and warm, a reminder of how simple moments can hold so much.

Quatro is a busy little Makiawisug who spends much of her time outdoors. She sleeps wherever she chooses to lay her weary head.

The Makiawisug (The Little People) live under Mohegan Hill in what is now Uncasville, Connecticutt. According to legend, the Makiawisug are generally good spirits. When treated with respect and kindness, they grant occasional favours, protect the tribe, and ensure bountiful harvests.

The sun shines on an incredibly photogenic girl.

Halo reaches for the light during a session at TankSpace, courtesy of TimeLine Events. I had originally finished this as a colour image but I was looking at it on my phone as it went into sleep mode and seeing it in monochrome made me think that it might work better this way.

Constructive criticism always welcome.

this is mark fearnley — someone whose work shaped the way i see lines, rhythm, and light on the street. he’s inspired countless photographers to look deeper, to shoot slower, and to embrace the poetry of everyday geometry. getting the chance to step behind the lens and capture him in this quiet moment was something special. a simple frame, but a meaningful one. proud to have taken this.

For once Mel is speechless.

I lost my small stash of umbrellas when we moved a new recliner into the living room. I finally found them yesterday and Mel got to be the first to try out one of the big ones. We'll skip the tricks I had to use to get her to hold it and stand up at the same time and instead revel in the cool way her glasses reflect the parking lot.
