When a star or sun collapses it is called a death star or super nova.... this is my version/play with the Sunflower.
--------------------------------------------------
This is the final image in my Sunflower study series:
I tried an approach to show different angles, both untouched as well as processed concepts. I was trying to show my "seeing artistically" when shooting.
Hope you enjoyed!
We watched a video this week where the photographer discussed the question of “ Are you taking a picture or making a picture?” There was no definitive answer to that but it made you think about the differences. I think I “made this picture” because I made some deliberate choices to get the end result. I used a soft DOF to get an artistic look to the scene. Then I turned the image on it’s side. It brought the fresh fern fronds to life instead of just hanging down.
Happy Wall Wednesday ;-)
‘Fundacion Antonia Guerrero' (Antonia Guerrero Foundation) is by Joaquín Fabian Aguilera Diaz and was inaugurated in October 2013. It is a tribute to Antonia Guerrero and in recognition of her work to improve the education of women in Estepona. It is created in paint and relief and it depicts a girl going up the stairs of Los Remedios church. The doves which can be seen at the topic the mural represent the liberation and freedom for women.
"La Ruta de Murales Artísticos de Estepona" (Estepona’s Route of Artistic Murals) is an incentive implemented by the local council and the mayor, Jose Maria Garcia Urbano that was started in September 2012. The route is just one part of a local rejuvenation project.
The objective was to improve and enliven some of Estepona’s forgotten or neglected neighbourhoods and it was hoped that the series of murals that are spread across the town would put Estepona on the tourist map and make it a cultural destination. It was clearly a successful initiative and looking at the wide variety of murals it is clear to see why tourists and residents alike are eager to follow the route and view each of the murals (information by Marianne Hill).

I tried this shot when I was in Germany, but you can do this trick in every forest. You can achieve this with a vertical movement and a slightly longer shutter speed

The thing I love the most
Besides eating a tasty toast
Is drawing from the heart
A scribble that becomes art.

Artistic framing of a very rare visitor, standing motionless, waiting to ambush its next meal.
Seeing a dark-plumaged heron is intriguing.. a black heron or 'Dimorphic Egret' ?
The intriguing sub-species Dimorphic Egret that occurs commonly in East Africa closely resembles the Western Reef-Egret, until you look for the differences and subtract the similarities. This one has a bright yellow feet 'golden slippers' as an identification mark, a dark slate gray body with a small white streak on the throat.
The black heron (Egretta ardesiaca), also known as the black egret, is an African heron. It uses its wings to form a canopy when fishing.
They are found exclusively in the eastern hemisphere with a strong presence in Africa and the Middle East. There are two subspecies, E.g.gularis (western) and E.g.schistacea (eastern)
Primarily a coastal inhabitant, foraging on shorelines and in estuaries, but can also be found at some inland water bodies. In the Red Sea region the breeding season is from June to August
