Fehmarnsundbrücke (Germany) to the Isle of Fehmarn at sunset on a fogy day.

- The 963 meter long combined road and rail bridge spanning the 1,300 meters wide Fehmarnsund, with the remaining 337 meters are made of double-sided ramps.

- It has a clear height of 23 meters above the mean water and provides vessel traffic a passage of 240 meters in width.

- The approximately 268.5 meter long arch has a span of 248 meters and is 45 meters above the road's highest point.

- Due to the eye-catching, highly visible design, the bridge is locally known as "Kleiderbügel" / "coat hanger".

- After more than three years of construction the bridge officially "opened" on April 30, 1963.
