Founded in 1278, Buckland Abbey was the last of the Cistercian monasteries to be built in medieval England and Wales. It was later sold to Sir Francis Drake, the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe. This is the "Cosmic Egg" sculpture by Andrew Logan, part of the Art of Reflection" exhibition hosted at Buckland Abbey at the time we were there.

the last large scale sculpture that Logan created at The Glasshouse in Bermondsey, the home and studio that he and his architect partner lived in for 25 years. It took 5 years to make and has not been shown before. It features Lynn Seymour, who was the principal ballerina at the Royal Ballet.
