From the "Freiburg Session". Pix from a quick journey to Freiburg prior to visiting Günther Wamser's slide show. We took the opportunity to take a few shots of the city marvels.
Günther Wamser travelled from Tierra del Fuego (dt. Feuerland) to the foothills of Mt. Denali in Alaska a-horseback in 20 years. This slide show focused on the last 4 years from the Mexican border along the continental divide trail (CDT) following the Rockies to Alaska.

(another attendee of the opening who teaches art, pointed out to me how the well-balanced placement of the elements of the sculpture is not only seen in the piece but also in the flat shadow on the wall)

Gunnilaberg's construction began in the 1660s. The yellow main-building is built in carolina-style timber with walnut ceilings and has wall paintings from the later part of the 18th century. Gunillaberg is since 2008 owned by flower artist Tage Andersen. The farm has since 2009 been open to the public summer time as a garden park and a cultural center.

A Logician Devil or The Logician Devil is an illustration of Lucifer created by Salvador Dalí referencing Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy. The image is one of 100 illustrations made by Dalí between 1950 and 1960 inspired by the Divine Comedy.
Noticed the lines the other day. So went back to check it out yesterday. Hey call me silly. Just liked the lines.

"Stone walls do not a prison make,
Nor iron bars a cage;
Minds innocent and quiet take
That for an hermitage;
If I have freedom in my love,
And in my soul am free;
Angels alone, that soar above,
Enjoy such liberty."
Richard Lovelace; To Althea, From Prison
(1649)
But this is no prison - just the barred windows of the cafe at the University of Manchester's Whitworth Gallery. The building is a wonderful red brick Victorian structure - I'll be back on a sunny day for some of the details.
I liked the way the daylight (blue tinge) leaked around the stairs in this stark architectural feature.
