Claudette was pleased to be greeted by a handsome young valet at the hotel.

We had walked further than we had intended at the start, which was above Hirschegg. After taking the chair lift to Heuberg, we followed the high-altitude trail past Mittelberg, over the Stutzalpe where we started the descent to Baad, the last village in the Kleinwalsertal. It was a beautiful and relatively easy walk. Best of all: in Baad we could take the bus back to Riezlern. HFF!

A five-pack of Freeport McMoran GP38s arrive at the AZER interchange in Clifton, AZ with a cut of empty acid cars. The cloudy day allowed for some different angles, here I chose to climb a cliff and - who knew - it actually ended up making for a nice shot.

As the temperature drops and fog and still air descends the trees slow down to slumber through winter.

401 sporting the new RRRR paint scheme leads a train of cement hoppers from the Holcim plant in Portland into Pueblo under the classic cantilever at Goodnight, the transition from single to double track on the old Tennessee Pass line. A pair of doves arrive on a very cold and windy morning. Making sure everythings is safe, they settle in. When the wind gusts it puffs up their feathers. Fun stuff to watch while drinking coffee out back on the patio.

night arrives

unannounced

in a black limo

a silent presence

who follows you

into your room

closes the door

points to the book

of days on your desk

dark finger a shadow

across your past

which disappears

with each turning

of the page until

there are no more

leaves to fall, no

birds to sing

your faint praises

only this moment

and maybe

mercifully

the next

During the construction of Vienna's Hauptbahnhof (main station), you passed this mirrored staircase, when you arrived at the provisional train station or wanted to take a train there. On the left you just see a reflection, on the right there's the reflection of the reflection, I was in the downstairs position...

Autumn had arrived. Got that camera?

Someone stuck part of an orange on this branch and it was sure attracting the orioles who arrived hungry from the south.

I love it during the winter weather when the snow geese come to visit us here in western Colorado. Usually they show up in a "blizzard", which is how they refer to a group of them together. They fly tightly together and make several loops around the lake, which is generally at least partly frozen by then. Eventually they begin their approach to land. This particular one landed on the ice and slid 10 feet or so across the ice. So glad that I was able to capture the slide on my camera ... just wish I had gotten video ... it was so much fun to watch. Happy Wednesday to all!

An early morning High Speed Train arrival at Venice

This is Wildsee, a moor lake in the higher regions of the Northern Black Forest, and it's one of the most eerie places I know. There is often a strange light as the sun tries to find its way through the clouds and the fog and usually doesn't succeed. It's also rather dark there. What's most disturbing, though, is the complete silence. When you walk along the path over the moor which leads there, you always hear birds and other noises but as soon as you arrive at the lake there is just silence.

🇬🇧 Egirdir is a small town of just over 20,000 inhabitants (not a recent figure) on the shores of the lake of the same name. The water comes mainly from rain and snowmelt and is as fresh as Lake Beyşehir. With a surface area of 570 km2, it is the fourth largest natural lake in Turkey. The lake is divided into two parts by the Hoyran Strait, which is only 1.5 km wide. The southern part is the larger and forms Lake Eğirdir, while the northern part is called Lake Hoyran.

80104 arriving at Corfe Castle Railway Station - the 14:42 from Norden to Swanage on 20 June 2019.

When we arrived to this empty beach, we got very thrilled to see, to listen and to smell the sea again.

It has passed more than two years (since June 2019) since the last time we saw it.

I observed these rocks and rapidly I thought it would be a nice picture. With the help of my tripod and my filter, I managed to get this 13 seconds exposure image.

Although you can imagine that the conditions to be at the beach were like being in Summer, the Mediterranean was cold, and the temperature in the beach was about 70F (21ºC). We settled for putting our feet in the water.

I hope you like the picture and I wish you a good beginning of this new weekend!
