As part of ‘Armed Forces Day 2018’ a parade took place through the streets of Heywood, Lancashire, UK. The theme of the day was the 1940’s. The town was decked out with stalls, sideshows, street artists and military equipment for all to enjoy. The event was also to celebrate the formation of the Royal Air Force; 100 years. There was also a fly past of Spitfire aircraft.

It happened to be Armed Forces Day in the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, when we visited with Ann Mari and Southsea Dave. I rather liked this candid view of some of the people at the event.
A few photos from Cleethorpes Armed Forces Day, Sunday 18th June 2023. The weather was so misty out to sea where the displays took place. Was so great to see the Lancaster appear, as it was touch and go that it would be able to appear.

I don't often take aeroplane shots, this was the Red Arrows doing a fly past at the Armed Forces Day in Stoke Park, Guildford.
I managed a best in show trophy at this show with my 1986 GMC K2500 GMC Pickup. A lot of beautiful cars at the show and a beautiful day in May (May 21, 2023)

Armed Forces Day is a chance to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, veterans and cadets. There are many ways for people, communities and organisations across the country to show their support.

FIRE! - The best view of the gun salute fired from L118 light guns was to be had from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's MANANNAN which was berthed at the Landing Stage preparing to depart on her 11:15 departure for Douglas. Passengers had been warned by the captain in advance not to be alarmed by gun fire!
It is not very often one gets the chance to photograph guns firing when you are almost looking down the barrel! The gun crews were from 103 Regiment Royal Artillery.
