Abbey Street, Armagh, one of Northern Ireland's most attractive streetscapes, on a classic March day of sunshine and showers.
In the distance, the twin spires of St Patrick's Roman Catholic Cathedral dominate the scene from the next hill to the west. This Gothic Revival work was built in various phases between 1840 and 1904 and is the mother church of Irish Catholicism.
A midwinter sunset at the churchyard in Creggan Church of Ireland, County Armagh, in the Ring of Gullion area in the south of the county.
The historic graveyard is the burial place of three eighteenth century Gaelic Irish poets: Art MacCooey, Pádraig MacAliondain and Séamus Mór MacMurphy (poet and outlaw).
This area was the last Irish-speaking area in the northeastern quadrant of Ireland, with the switch to English only occurring in the 19th Century and native speakers of the Armagh dialect surviving into the 1930s.

This is my first post with my new Canon 6D - have finally succumbed to full frame and the red rings! X2 extender on the 70-200mm 2.8 IS to get this shot. The 2 Cathedrals are a well known feature of the skyline in Armagh City. They are illuminated green for St. Patrick's day on the 17th March. Light just fading in the blue hour to keep a bit of interest in the sky overhead.
Nicely pedestrianised, Market Street in Armagh City climbs up a relatively steep, if small, hill from the main shopping area to the Anglican Cathedral. It contains the the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association. What looks to me like a late Georgian townscape does not seem to be listed.
It also contains the Market Cross. This is mostly an early 20th Century confection, but the shaft and the head of an ancient High Cross from Armagh are incorporated within it.
