Most might argue that this shot is an obvious candidate for a Black and White conversion. For me however the reflected colours from the buildings on Rossio Square add quite a bit to the shot and transform it from being a very two dimensional image.
Likewise I could've waited another couple of seconds to get the shot completely clear of people. Well, I took that shot also but much prefer this as for me it's a lot more interesting with the inclusion of the legs.
What do you think ?

From Wikipedia : "Rossio Square is the popular name of the Pedro IV Square (Portuguese: Praça de D. Pedro IV) in the city of Lisbon, in Portugal. It is located in the Pombaline Downtown of Lisbon and has been one of its main squares since the Middle Ages. It has been the setting of popular revolts and celebrations, bullfights and executions, and is now a preferred meeting place of Lisbon natives and tourists alike.
The current name of the Rossio pays homage to Pedro IV, King of Portugal. The Column of Pedro IV is in the middle of the square."

Wednesday is a very early day for me. I'm headed out to the far west side of town to a class in Shell's Project Delivery Framework. I guess they think it's not too late to teach an old dog new tricks. However, I'll also be late getting home tomorrow because traffic is awful out that way.
Just thought I'd throw in another Just for Fun. She got out of the pool and dried off. We didn't have to argue about it being cold again that day. This is the youngest granddaughter.
Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California. 29 July 2008.
With James Loney on second, Dodger Casey Blake hits a double down the left-field line. Giants left fielder Fred Lewis chases the ball into foul territory, and fumbles the ball into the first row of seats. Seeing this, Loney heads for home.
Lewis recovers the ball before a fan can grab it, and throws home in plenty of time to catch Loney. Loney is tagged out.
Umpire rules the ball was out of play. Loney SCORES!
Giants manager Bruce Bochy is seen here arguing the call. He didn't win the argument.
Go DODGERS!
You could argue a lot about it, but I think the new Disney movie turned out quite good, except of some points like this ugly monster in the end [...]. But the Corellia scenes were really striking in my view, especially the blue filtered ones.

Hey there! I actually found some time to build something. As I am busy with university and moving to another city in some months, there are maybe just some little table scraps following in the next weeks before my bricks are going to be stored in the cellar... but, you know, better than nothing.
While one could argue that Escanaba was home to the CNW Alco fleet because the lions share of C628's would normally be found there working ore assignments Green Bay was where any major work was done. Normally 2-3 C628's a day worked the Escanaba-Green Bay freight as units were rotated sown for work that Escanaba couldn't do. Green Bay was also home to the 4 axle Alcos and most often RS32's could be found working the yard. 4258, 6706, 6704 and 6725 have just made the trip down from Escanaba on a rainy August 4, 1982. A pair of sisters with shop work completed rest a couple tracks to right while an EMD switcher is in the distance between the Alco's. Looking at North Green Bay now it's hard to believe there was an Alco fleet or major shop work ever assigned there.
He argued that since Buddhist and Christian monastics agreed that the root of human problems was human consciousness, they both sought to bring about a transformation of human consciousness and “in their sort of ideal setting and the ideal way of looking at them” they “fulfill this role in society.”
... Historically, Eastern and Western monasticism alike have contributed to education, healthcare, agricultural techniques, art, and music to society. Today, however, these works are performed within secular institutions, and contemporary men and women seek to satisfy their spiritual thirst through monastic or contemplative methods regardless of the religious tradition in which these methods were developed.

No-one will argue that planting trees is not a good idea, but what happens to the plastic that protected the saplings?
The Fuzz does not get to much one on one with other cats for where he lives. So he must create fantasies and illusions such as resolving a tense conflict between himself and himself over a toy. As he holds his toy in his mouth. He begins to threaten to himself, he better stay at least 50 feet away from himself. But much to the frustration of the Fuzz. It seems where ever The Fuzz goes. The rest of himself is trailing close and not to far behind. Sometimes he sits for hours and says, you looking at me. Well, you must be lookint at me. I am the only cat here.
Don't argue! This is the price you have to pay!

One moment Pinky is arguing with Ray and Hue on Phosphoros, and then suddenly he is somewhere else entirely. Pinky remebers pressing the new button he found in his ship (now rover...he keeps forgetting). He saw a flash of light for just an instant, and now he is no longer on Phosphoros.
Pinky feels confused and disoriented, and nauseated. He quickly unbuckles his safety harness and opens the canopy of his rover. Pinky stares around at his new surroundings in disbelief. The planet is different, the light is different, even the stars in the sky look different.
Pinky decides to walk to clear his head. Over the next rise, he spies a bright orange rover heading this way. Pinky flags down the driver and a green alien creature in matching fatigues climbs from the vehicle to meet him.
Hello! You must be Pinky. I've been looking for you.
Pinky is more confused than ever.
How...how do you know my name? What do you mean, you have been looking for me? How did you know I was here? I don't even know where here is!
The alien chuckles.
That first jump can be disorienting, I know. Don't worry, it get easier, or at least you get used to it. Ray contacted me from Phosphoros. He told me to be on the lookout for you. He said they didn't get the chance to explain the Quantum Jump Drive they installed in your rover before you inadvertently jumped on your own.
Pinky blushes in embarrassment for the way he acted when he left Ray and Hue.
They were trying to help me after all. I feel terrible.
The green strangers places a reassuring hand on Pinky's wooly neck.
There is no need for that my new friend. Allow me to introduce myself...my name is Danko, I'm a mechanic. Speeder bikes are my specialty, but I'll fix just about anything that moves. I have a shop not far from here. Come, Pinky, we have much to discuss, and besides, you are not going anywhere until your Jump Drive has time to recharge.
Pinky goes with his new friend to his shop where Danko explains about Phosphorosian Quantum Jump technology. The Jump drive allows teleportation to adjacent worlds. The jump feels almost instantaeneous to the pilot, but in actuality takes a bit longer. So while Pinky felt that only a moment passed between Phosphoros and Danko's world, several hours of time actually elapsed. Danko explains to Pinky how to calibrate the Quantum drive to continue his journey homeward.
Sometime later, after sharing a meal together and much conversation, Danko returns Pinky to his rover. As he climbs into the cockpit he turns to his new friend.
How can I ever thank you for your kindness?
Simple... pass it along.
Pinky waves as his canopy closes, and Danko sketches a little salute in return.
Well, here goes nothing...
Pinky holds his breath as he reaches for the Jump Drive ignition.
ZZZZZZaaaap
Crackle
Flash
Danko walks back to his truck as a small wisp of white smoke drifts up into the clear night sky.
Safe travels, friend. I hope you find what you are looking for.

A sister is someone who loves you from the heart,
No matter how much you argue you cannot be drawn apart.
She is a joy that cannot be taken away,
Once she enters your life, she is there to stay.
A friend who helps you through difficult times,
Her comforting words are worth much more than dimes.
A partner who fills your life with laughs and smile,
These memories last for miles and miles.
When she is by your side, the world is filled with life,
When she is not around, your days are full of strife.
A sister is a blessing, who fills your heart with love,
She flies with you in life with the beauty of a dove.
A companion to whom you can express your feelings,
She doesn’t let you get bored at family dealings.
Whether you are having your ups or downs,
She always helps you with a smile and never frowns.
With a sister you cannot have a grudge,
She is as sweet as chocolate and as smooth as fudge.
Having a sister is not just a trend,
It is knowing you can always turn to her, your best friend........© Shiv Sharma

It could be argued that the car park is as interesting as the Class 120 + Class 118 combination sitting in St Ives platform. A quick scan of the cars reveals a treasure trove of now 'heritage' vehicles. A cursory glance reveals a Morris Marina, Triumph Herald, classic Morris Minor 'Clubman', with the wood panels, Ford Cortins, Mini vans, Allegro's and a lot more. In the station, on 13th July 1979, is Class 120 Set No. P555 consisting of W51690, W59582 & W51576. I think the leading DMU is Class 118, Set P473, as it was on the St Ives shuttle the previous week. There's no need to argue anymore
I gave all I could, but it left me so sore
And the thing that makes me mad
Is the one thing that I had
I knew, I knew
I'd lose you
You'll always be special to me
Special to me, to me

Some argue that chimpanzees should be categorized in the same genus as humans, Homo, based on the fact that chimpanzees and humans diverged only 4 to 6 million years ago (Groves 2001). The implications of changing the taxonomical categorization could have enormous impacts on how chimpanzees are perceived and the rights extended to them. For example, by categorizing chimpanzees as Homo, it might be considered unethical to keep them in zoos or use them in research.
This may very well be one of my best shots ever. It is taken on Wall Street, right in front of Trinity church, and the person to the right is arguing with this woman, probably about what it takes or doesn't take to get to heaven...
I couldn't help but think when looking at this photo that this Adelie Penguin family had just had an arguement and the naughty child was in the middle.

It has been a while since my last upload, but I was so desperate to share some of my pics with you guys because otherwise I will be showing South-African photos for one year only when I return. Furthermore, since the internet here in Port Alfred finally is getting decent again, I am slightly able to upload some photos and therefore I decided to step away from my break and recently 'try' to upload a shot about my journeys.
This shot was taken during a roadtrip along the Garden Route while parents were visiting. On this day, the sea was rough as hell with amazing high waves and a tremendous strong wind near Cape St. Francis in the Eastern-Cape. I wanted to make a LE here since conditions were superbe, but the wind was just to strong because I even couldn't stand straight.....
Hope you will enjoy my first real South African nature shot, and prepare for at least half a year of South African shots.
