Christchurch town centre and the Harbour are overlooked by the 11th century Grade I listed Christchurch Priory. In 1094 a chief minister of William II, Ranulf Flambard, then Dean of Twynham, began the building of a Priory on the site of the original mission church and the town became known as Christchurch. In 1539, John Draper the last Prior of Christchurch, surrendered the Priory, and it was dissolved and the monastic buildings were pulled down soon after. The King had intended to pull down the church as well as the monastic buildings, but in response to a plea from the townspeople, supported by Prior Draper, he granted the church together with the churchyard to the churchwardens and inhabitants of Christchurch to be used as the parish church in perpetuity, a grant that was confirmed in 1612 by James I. The town is fortunate that the Christchurch Priory Cartulary, which consists of over one thousand three hundred documents and charters copied and collated in the 14th century, with a few later additions, has survived to provide a comprehensive account of the Priory and events connected to it during the medieval period.
The evolution of the Priory into the building it is today took place over many centuries. It is the longest parish church in England with a nave over three hundred and eleven feet long. The nave and transepts are Norman with heavy columns and round arches, whereas the lady chapel is from the 14th century and more Perpendicular in style. The great choir is even later, having been rebuilt in the 16th century. The Priory is noted for its Miraculous Beam, which attracts pilgrims from all over the world. Within the Priory grounds stands Priory House, a Grade II listed mansion built in 1777 by Gustavus Brander a curator at the British Museum and Governor of the Bank of England. The Porch Room in the Priory is over the North Porch and is the home of the Christchurch History Society Archive.

Girard College archives date to at least as early as the 1830s. Archivists are striving to analyze and preserve the documents.
Out on the street, I see this guy occasionally and today I managed to grab a photo. I've desaturated the colour a bit. He is so charming the way he dresses.

Heritage house (1889) at 301 Metcalfe Street in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Designed by Frederick J. Alexander, this Queen Anne style house was the home of Douglas Brymner (July 3, 1823 – June 19, 1902) from Greenock, Scotland; known as the First Dominion Archivist, a politician, a journalist, a civil servant and the father of prominent painter William Brymner, a British-Canadian art teacher and a figure and landscape painter also born in Scotland.
Why the city does not refer to this house as the "Brymner House" or something akin to such on the heritage property plaque, is food for thought.

The archivist trying to describe this image provided an elaborate title "River, rocky bed, between wooded banks, weir seen from dumstream, mill wheel mill, outflow to left" I await an explanation for "Dumstream" and a virtual sticky bun for the best version!
The scene is wide and sylvan with an enormous mill building, probably a tidal river below the falls and a verdant river bank.

This artifact is perhaps one of the most secret things in the Archives of Sanctum.
About it knows only Chief Archivist and several chaplains across the galaxy.
Heart of the Demon - this is the subject - is fraught with all the power of magic of death, he is able to regenerate, and can create tentacles and other forms. According to records in the archives, Heart of the Demon - it's a heart of Lucifer, the High Demon.
In fact, this artifact is a repository of dark energ, has just colossal force. If the heart is left to fend for themselves, then for 10 years, it will be able to "grow" around very real body that has already happened, and every time growed demon terrify entire star systems.
Nobody disputes that the Demon's Heart - the animated subject, and has its own perverted minds.
This form is only able to move energy from one dimension to another, being essentially a portal. However, movable energy can be extremely deadly. The ability of this artifact is enormous, he is able to absorb the energy of an entire star and redirect it to another dimension.
Obviusly, it's chaousrulez's alien gun part. I'm tried to ungroup it. Each ungrouping causes an error, but I liked, what happened in the end, and I had this idea.
Damn, PMG chopped off picture. But not critically.
P.S.: wom wom wom wom wom wom wom wom wom
I've had little time for photography this summer, as I have full time employment as an archivist in another city. Half of my spare time is devoted to commuting, so currently, I pretty much only shoot on the occasional weekend. Not to fret though, as I intend to go back and shoot more in Singapore early next year!
At least there's this shot, taken in my hometown. Perhaps a bit better than the previous one of the new fountain that I got last year.
The Rev'd Dr Barry Orford, Archivist at Pusey House in Oxford reflected in the glass of the case containing the death mask of Edward Bouverie Pusey. Apparently Pusey (who was rather well-known in his day) refused to be photographed or painted. Other than some sketches this death mask is the only accurate representation made of him.
The official beginning of the Boulia township is a proclamation signed by Councilor Kennedy on the 31st of July 1879 and gazetted on the 2nd of August, setting aside a reserve for township purpose. Located on the Burke River, the name Boulia is said to be derived from the word ‘water hole’ from the language of the local Pitta Pitta people. Boulia’s early history is based around a few hardy adventurers and pastoralists in search of new lands and with the will to ‘make a go of it’. It is now an attractive Shire community with a population of almost 500 people and well-serviced by modern facilities.

Argentine film archivist Fernando Peña discovered a full-length copy of “Metropolis” in 2008 in the archives of the Museo del Cine in Buenos Aires. Incorporating more than 25 minutes of newly discovered footage, the 2010 restoration is the definitive edition of the film, backed by a new recording of Gottfried Huppertz’s 1927 score.
“Metropolis” is known for its dazzling visual design and special effects. Lang’s vision of a technologically advanced, socially stratified urban dystopia, has influenced contemporary films like “Blade Runner” and “Star Wars.”

My paternal grandfather John Dawson served with RAF squadron 616 for four years in WW2. He was ground crew and isn't in this photograph but he did bring home with him after the war a small selection of photos taken during his time with the squadron.
It turns out that a the subject here was a bit of a celebrity. This photo which would have been taken in May 1945 depicts Messerschmitt Yellow 17 which was flown was flown by Lt Hans Dorn of 1-JG7. It was captured at Fassberg by No 616 Squadron RAF in May 1945. The aircraft was tested and given an RAF designation before being returned to England. It was later sold to Canada where it was scrapped. By the end of the war the Luftwaffe had quite the range of jet fighters, six in total, although probably only the Messerschmitt 262 was built in any numbers. I will write to the squadron archivists to see if they have more details and perhaps they might be able to recognise the crew.
I am currently acting as the Archivist at the Sydney Tramway Museum and these lovely pictures came my way this week. (Note, I have taken the roll numbers off them). They tell the story of North Shore Trams which ceased running in 1958.
