The top three floors (of five) in the American Heritage Center, seen from an outdoor art exhibit between it and the museum. University of Wyoming.
Anacamptis morio 2014, Antanges, VD, Switzerland. One of our first orchids. I am really looking forward!
I had to post an archive shot of this House Finch because I had one of those extremely frustrating days with a camera. I took my old Panasonic for a test run before I decided whether or not to keep it. I wish I had brought one of my Sony cameras. What I got very blurry pics of: a beaver, a osprey, a kingfisher, wood ducks and a pied-billed grebe. I could scream! If I had brought my Sony I'd have something to post! The Panasonic (which I dropped two years ago and has suffered greatly ever since) is still good for closeup shots. I'm going to give it, with batteries, a charger, and an SD card, to Goodwill. Maybe someone with less high expectations than I have will enjoy it. I am a "pixel peeper."
Mural "The archive" by 'A Squid Called Sebastian' at Voetweg 6 in Ghent, Belgium
In this students area, Squid showcases his talent to work with (or around) the elements a wall offers. The many papers you see on this wall, refer to the archive from the liberal workers union that's situated in the building.
And the archiving of my work continues. Now I am getting all of the drawings (well over a hundred), from Noёl Riley Fitch and my book “Paris Café: The Sélect Crowd,” labelled and in order. They were done in sketchbooks between 1995 and 2007. My sketchbooks are dated and numbered. Luckily, I put the sketchbook number on the back of the drawings. They had been cut out. So, it was very easy to find the year each drawing was done. Still more to do…..
Before my friend and I got to Chaco Canyon, we went through Aztec, New Mexico and stopped at the Aztec Ruins National Monument. Again, this had been my second visit to this area. I was taking my friend to see a lot of things in the SW.
Haven't seen an impressive sunrise in quite some time, so it's back to the archives to remind myself what they look like.
I'd missed this one on initial processing of the shots from Howick Scar a month ago or so, as the bright reds of the early morning were much more eyecatching. On reflection though, I decided I quite like the way the clouds all seem to be being sucked away to the far right of the picture.
This was taken from about as far as I could go along the scar, using an ND grad to hold back the sky and cloudy white balance to warm the shot.

Those days we just used to grab the camera and some lights, and in this case a wedding dress... drive around and just play where the light seemed good.
Photo of a photo, obvs. I was going through some photos last night and found a couple I thought I'd put up. I'm starting to marvel at how much my face has changed and not changed at the same time.
This was taken in the last couple of weeks in San Diego. Either late July or early August, 1999. I was crossing the border into Tijuana to get myself a monkey on a surfboard. Two of my friends from the UK were with me (taking the shot).
This used to be a standard pose of mine whenever a camera appeared. I didn't used to be so camera shy. I'm a little sad to discover how I've changed in that vein.
