Photographing a Kingfisher perched at close range had become a distant memory

That is until yesterday!

The 'buzz' came back

I can't thank this bird enough

Looking down from above on a small beach on Dingle Peninsula Almost tropical, Early morning yet the water was this amazing aqua blue colour !! nothing added. That was it.

I found it for a while...but it is short lived. Nevertheless it waits..

We walked to a headland for a sunset but it was out to sea.

Composed South instead of West and we’re treated to the last of the light. Again only we were there.

I am able to think straight when nobody about so managed some LE photography.

We couldn’t find the bay we were seeking but serendipity gave up this beautiful scene..

Scenic framing of a life ring buoy floating in a stunning seascape surrounded by mountains.

Originally derived from the Old French word 'boue' meaning 'mud' or 'slime'. Buoys were originally made of mud or clay and were used as markers in water.

A buoy is seen because its always right at the surface, just floating around. It doesn't float away because it's being grounded by an anchor.

This crucial flotation device used for water rescue mark out swimming areas or indicate channels deep enough for large boats to safely maneuver. Some have lights to guide watercraft and bells to warn of reefs or other hazards. Buoys keep things afloat or prevent them from drifting.

The lifebuoy sign is a universal symbol of water rescue and emergency preparedness.

In literature, buoys have been used as symbols of hope and guidance.

Crazy gorgeous waves at Port beach today

Charming view of the sea from a wooden jetty. Shot with a Canon EOS 700D at Sharm El Sheikh.

Scenic framing of graceful Terns enjoying a sunny day on a rock in front of Tiran Island.

Common Terns have long, narrow, angular wings and pointed wingtips. Unlike gulls, they have a straight, slender bill, the tail is forked and the legs are short.

Most are white with a dark cap and red or orange bill. Terns usually pair for life, though the pair bond is not maintained in the non-breeding season.

Those long-distance migrants

will travel well in excess of 500,000 miles on migration, more than enough to take it to the moon and back (a distance of 480,000 miles, on average). During the course of their life they will experience more daylight than almost any other creature. Although the Arctic Tern has the longest migration, many other species also traverse long distances between breeding and non-breeding season.

Across various cultures, the tern has long been associated with guidance, freedom, and the journey of the soul. Maritime communities have revered the tern as a guardian of the seas, believing that its presence signals safe passage.

Sailors often looked to these birds as signs of direction and protection during their voyages, trusting their instincts to guide them through stormy waters. In Indigenous traditions, the tern represents harmony with nature and the cyclical rhythms of life.

Terns represent the qualities that we as humans employ to survive, they give us hope.

"Sea Shell, Sea Shell, Sing me a song,

A song of ships, and sailor men,

And parrots, and tropical trees,

Of islands, fishes and corals under the waves

And seahorses stabled in great green caves"

Holding a beautiful seashell and connecting distant places as shells are a bridge between the physical and the supernatural realm.

One of the most beautiful sites all over the world known for its clear water and exquisite coral reefs.

Sometimes our journeys of life take us back to places that we have long since departed, and other times, it takes us closer to the moments and ideas that were never fully realized. Some would call this a second chance. I take a deep breath and call it a second wind.

High tide or low tide, I'll be by your side.

At the southernmost promontory of the Sinai separating the Gulf of Aqaba and the Gulf of Suez, Ras Mohamed national park offers some of the most amazing snorkeling and diving spots in the Red Sea.

The impressive rock masses are made from fossil corals, of which the most ancient go back to the Pleistocene era (from 1.8 million to 10,000 years ago). They are testimony to an important variation of the sea level.

Several snorkeling locations, including Seven Pools spot, allow you to discover the marine life of the park. This series of patch reefs is located in a remote area of the park and features a kaleidoscope of colorful fish swimming in translucent water. The crystal-clear waters and excellent visibility make it an ideal spot for snorkeling and underwater photography.

Hard to catch as they fly so quick but magical to watch though

The calm before the storm, boxing day meant to be windy and wet tomorrow.

Snow falls on glaciers melts, becomes REALLY compressed squeezing out air bubbles and appears this amazing blue. Ice that floats in the water around glaciers and such, depending on their sizes are referred to as bergy bits and growlers.

Saturday was a beautiful day for a walk on the beach. On days like these it reminds me a little bit of what’s to come for the summer. Warm temps and sunshine! I love when the water turns aqua blue.

Sequestered deep in the mountains, isolated from major roads and townships, there is profound mystery, history and culture to the whole Jenolan area and I love to visit when I can.

The famous caves and associated land cover 3,000 hectares situated in the Central Tablelands region, west of the Blue Mountains here in New South Wales.

At 340 million years old, the caves are the most ancient discovered open caves in the world. The word Jenolan is believed to be an indigenous word for 'high place', derived from the Tharawal word, Genowlan. Jenolan Caves are in the lands of the Burra Burra people, a clan group of the Gundugurra Nation and this is a sacred space for First Nations communities.

The peaceful Blue Lake seen here, is fed by the River Styx and Jenolan River. The intense and most beautiful colour seen from some angles comes from the refraction of light through the limestone deposits, sediment and bedrock.

There are duck-billed platypus within the vicinity, but I have not been lucky enough to see any during my visits.

Classic “Old Harry’s Rocks”

A spectacular viewpoint of one Dorset’s wonderful landscape treasures.

Photographed on an extremely busy August Bank holiday Monday. I joined, literally, hundreds of visitors walking along the 40 minute coastal trail to the headland. It was a minor miracle getting a photograph without with a person in the frame but I must admit I did clone out three small sailing t

yachts. Also, a jet ski was moving so fast that they left a water trail in this 1 minute exposure that I had to clear.
