I find downy woodpeckers very appealing. It is always a treat to see them at a feeder, or waiting in the trees for their turn at the feeder, as this little female is doing.

Please view large.

Just a river I came across at local Nene Park. The sky was ominous and dark with snow clouds just before the storm and the darkness on the water was just so appealing and was contrasting the light on water.

Another lake in the ever appealing Plantsbrook Local Nature Reserve. Marnie was happy sniffing around while I took many photographs all around the many lakes, called 'pools' we visited. I've no idea why this one's called "Black Pool" but it is !

Please view large, it's better !

Many thanks for your views and comments my friends. Hope you're not having too many thunder storms and heavy rain showers as we are here in the UK !

I found this appealing with the open wings.

Thanks for viewing and thanks again for the faves and kind comments, all of which are much appreciated.

This photograph was taken two days ago just at sunrise in Lower Seletar Reservoir. It was a calm morning, with drifting clouds of various shapes illuminated differently by the sun.

The sun was behind two trees and peeked out for a short period, with the sun recorded as captivating sunstar The reflections of the vegetation and clouds provided complementary interests to the serene landscape.

"Appealing" to mice, rodents and bats to enter the home. Like the broken window allowing fresh air into the house.

Happy Windows Wednsday!

It was early evening in Innsbruck. the light on the houses was appealing.

Moonlight casts a magical aura over a well-worn pathway as it twists its way through the wooded landscape of Eclectica. A curious assortment of settings offer something appealing to anyone visiting this fascinating and mystical sim.

This staircase is located in the Technical University of Regensburg. The university also has an Institute of Scalology, which is the science of the originalities and the appeal of stairs, or in brief, "knowledge of the staircase".

Unfortunately, this is not a tall bulding with lots of exciting staircases but it only has one which is appealing 😉

We see a lot of these appealing flowers on flickr this time of year. They're hard to resist!

Midjourney is all the rage these days. I have tried many of them.

It is true that there is a future here and infinite possibilities seem to be expanding.

But I am puzzled because the picture created by Midjourney AI and the picture I created in SL are so different. The simple impression is that the SL snapshot looks a bit cheap. It is enough to discourage me from creating.

I also felt it was still incomplete as a good tool.

Currently, no matter how brilliant the "spell" you cast, you can't deny that what lies ahead is a "Gacha" synthesized by an AI. However, the synthesis technology and unique flavor of Midjourney's work are sufficiently appealing to people, and it is very enjoyable. But I don't think I will be satisfied with Mid Journey for a long time to come, and I am already bored with it.

Anyway I think certainly, AI-created art will become a new category in addition to human-created art.

But no matter how great the Midjourney make their paintings, they are still very different from pure Art or human creativity. I feel that we must remember to continue the discussion of what art means to humans.

The little harbour was appealing

And a light at the end of the tunnel that we are all trying to reach so desperately and as soon as possible? But before we can finally step out into the sunshine, we have to make it through a seemingly infinite and not exactly inviting looking corridor. Which brings me straight to the strange appeal of peeling paint – colorful, g(l)or(e)ious peeling paint in abundance, in all shapes and flakes imaginable. OK, I'll admit that this is probably a "peeling paint overkill", and to make it look more appealing I pushed and pulled the sliders hard ;) Pre-processed in DXO PhotoLab , HDR-fied in HDR Efex (which brought out the colours so nicely), glow-ified in ON1 Photo-Raw – and some other slidings I don't remember ;) As usual, I have a basic idea of how I want an image to look like, a certain mood I want to bring across, and then I use all sorts of filters and stuff to get there, but I hardly ever write down each step, as it's way more fun to go with the creative flow, isn't it? By the way, you can take a closer look at that chair by the door in the image in the first comment – and there you can also fully admire its super stylish decorative fabric :)

Happy (Sliders) Sunday, Everyone!

There is just something about this pose that I find so appealing. What I see is strength and grace of these large birds.

I also love seeing the amber colored feather tips this time of year!

There's nothing more appealing to the eye than a Canada Goose Gosling eyeing you up. They are most inquisitive at this age and some will stop at nothing to check you out such as this one here was doing.

I found my first salamander of the season yesterday with this Spotted found under a log. I placed him in some moss for a more appealing setting. Also he was put back under his log after the photo session. I went back again this afternoon and he was still under the same log. I just let him be this time though.

I hope everyone enjoys this image!

In terms of form and shape its appealing, but as far as texture is concerned, something went wrong, for it looks a bit like hehe a mixture of plastic surgery !

Thanks everyone for sending good wishes on my birthday yesterday. I had a good birthday a pleasant long lunch in a favourite restaurant , generous gifts of wine, books and chocolate.

I took this a couple of weeks ago when we had a stroll on the South bank of the Humber. I did not take a camera as I thought I had enough images of the Humber Bridge . However this colourful scene in Barton Haven was quite appealing thankfully I had the phone. As you can see the Humber Bridge does make an appearance in the background . As for the Haven its pretty silted up it would need a pretty high tide to get a boat in or out of here and onto the Humber

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.

I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO WITHOUT ALSO LEAVING A COMMENT .

I wonder how people living there love their environment however appealing it may be to the onlookers.

This was taken when not all could afford to buy a daily newspaper. Many prefer to share a posted newspaper as the lady in white and her companion on the lower left hand corner did.

It has just come to my attention that renowned opera Mirella Freni had past away on 9th this February at 84. My baritone friend opined that she managed to improve all the way during her long career. And I suggested Nicolai Ghiaurov may well be an important factor. Freni was married to the equally well known Bulgarian bass singer Nicolai Ghiaurov. Well, it so happened that she shared the same wet nurse with Pavarotti, both were born in the same neighourhood and even in the same year. Freni had performed on the stage with both Pavarotti and Nicolai frequently.

There is something appealing about the vastness of the beaches on the North Norfolk coast when the tide is out….the sea is so far away you can barely see it, but you can hear it and see evidence of it being right under your feet only a few hours previously. There is so much beach, you can almost have it all to yourself and the sense of space is immense…..but when the tide comes in, it comes in fast- in fact many parts of Norfolk have faced devastating coastal erosion which you’d never think from looking at this gentle scene.

Hope you are all keeping well and safe and have a happy new week ahead :)

A retirement apartment, two minutes walk from the town centre with fishing - appealing for many.

Fishing is one of the greatest hobbies practised religiously since ancient times. Some call it a sport while others consider it the art of life. Though this began as a means of survival for many.

Between November 2020 and November 2021, approximately 105.6 thousand people participated in angling in England.

In the UK there are 2.2 million coarse anglers and 0.8 million game anglers, each spending about £1,000 per annum on fishing.

The full socio-economic value of recreational fisheries needs to be recognised, (£3000,000,000 per year).

Absorbing, abundant, adorable, alive, alluring, amazing, appealing, astonishing, astounding, attractive....just a few A's to describe the Lake District.....oh yes A+

And who would have thought I get drenched crouching down in 2 inches of water to capture this scene of tranquility.....Amateur!!!!

"Blue is a universally appealing colour that we can experience in nature, fashion, films, and more. When we think of blue in nature, we have the calm blue sea, the pale blue dot representing earth, our ocean world, and the clear blue sky." ~ Jennifer Okafor

"With respect to the ocean being the heart of our blue planet: We are often asked, 'How much protection is enough?' We can only answer with another question: How much of your heart is worth protecting?" ~ Sylvia Earle

Shot at Nth Stradbroke Island (Australia) on a morning walk. A number of fellow surfers were already immersed in the blue water (bottom RHS), edged with turquoise, enjoying the calm but maybe wishing for bigger waves lol. By the time I had put camera down and board up, a pod of playful dolphins had also arrived.

Taken at a garden belonging to a local Buddhist temple. I thought the colors of the walkway were appealing.

Boundaries can be grave matters, especially when they keep people apart. In this case, the boundary between the physical objects and the sky was quite appealing to my cryptic eye.

Style Info & Photos

Back in the day photography close-ups of nature was very appealing to me and while my interests have evolved into different subjects and styles I always find my way back to my photo roots of macro. Recently Reid Northrup a fellow Flickr-ite has posted the most dreamy flower photos he uses LensBaby Soft Optic II and after looking into their line of lenses I picked up their Velvet 85 thanks to B&H Photo and their daily deals. Although the results are different between the two lenses I’m happy with my choice and how it fits in to my photography style.

BTW: check out Reid’s photostream he does some amazing work.

I spent a lot of time photographing this building a few months back and I've already posted a couple of images of it but one more image if I may. I do so like the shapes in this building, those rounded exteriors are exquisite and the glass in the right hand tower reflecting it's neighbour is what makes this for me.

This shows the very top of a couple of the towers but in fact there are around 25 floors in the highest towers so there are around 15 floors below what you see here. I've got a few shots of the whole complex comprising all the towers, taken with a wide angle lens, but the distortion is quite apparent and in my opinion not very appealing.

I posted an image yesterday of that appealing pool of water nestled in this basalt and limestone natural bridge over the Kicking Horse river in BC's Yoho National Park. Here's a view providing a larger perspective on the forces of rushing water that formed this geological wonder.

Long ago the river flowed over this formation but later wore down the base and now flows under it.

This was taken in June, when the waters were full of dirt, silt and runoff, turning them brown. However later in the year the more pristine glacial runoff turns the waters a brilliant teal blue. An image from an autumn trip below shows the difference in colors.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
