It was just a pair of weeks ago, i do often have a walk at the seaside near Venice during spring and summer weekend, so this was a perfect occasion. We are about 10-15 km away from the ancient centre of Venice, the job season for bathhouses in the neighborhood is not started yet. So it was a perfect situation to catch a picture of desolation and anxious feelings at the same time, cloudy weather was the perfect plus for this moment.
So I used the native iPhone camera app, shoot directly in 1:1 mode to compose with more precision, waiting for my friends become so small near the horizon, exactly in the middle. Then I put the image on Instagram [my name there is Luca27379] with a soft elaboration in contrast and a bit of sepia tone.

Was playing around with mixing painterly apps again.
Made this one a few weeks back on the iPad. First color adjusted in Snapseed. Then I ran the adjusted image through Jixipix's Portrait HD. Then I took that version and ran it through Brushstroke.
Original image was captured with iPhone.

☞ Mountain Lake forms the headwaters of Crooked Creek, itself a tributary of the 63.5-mile-long South River. A 'lake-level' view: here.

☞ At 955-feet high (290 m) high, Arabia Mountain is a geographical feature known as a monadnock: "an isolated rock hill, knob, ridge, or small mountain that rises abruptly from a gently sloping or virtually level surrounding plain. A monadnock (or inselberg) results when a body of rock resistant to erosion, such as granite, occurring within a body of softer rocks, is exposed by differential erosion and lowering of the surrounding landscape."
☞ Throughout the early and mid-20th century, the Davidson Granite Company quarried the Arabia Mountain area for its unique granite and migmatite (known as 'Tidal Gray'). In 1972, the DeKalb County Park system acquired 498 acres of Arabia Mountain through purchase and donations from Davidson Mineral Properties and area landowners.

Dear Mr. MacAskill, dear Flickr, your app is really poorly made. It feels like using a computer, but ten thousand times more complicated! If I wanted to work on a computer, I would just open my computer. A mobile app needs to be lightweight, easy, and intuitive.If the software engineers who built it don't understand that, it means they don't use it and they are not photographers. They desperately need a real photographer who uses the app daily to tell them how to fix it. I’ve told Flickr many times: if they want me as a consultant, I don't even cost that much!Creating an app that doesn't support non-paying users or certain phones means they don't care about the community. They made everything too difficult and too slow: even searching for friends or hitting 'like' has become a hassle. They ruined everything.
This was a full moon-set I took on Sunday morning. I used PlanIt app to calculate the camera spot, so the setting full moon will align with coit tower at some point. I used my second camera to take a time-lapse to record the whole process. And here is a short timelapse consist of 200 pictures before and after my final shot:
There are so many alternations on full moon pictures right now in photography community, since photoshop app is making the alternation much easier than before. However, I feel more joyful and satisfactory when I am doing the real full moon shooting and when everything is moving as my prediction.
