This was the color of the sky in Los Angeles last Monday morning.
There are more than twenty wild fires burning out of control in California, not to mention those in Oregon, Washington State and Utah.
Evacuations are in process in several cities in Los Angeles County. It is getting too close for comfort.

This is my final image from my trip to Iceland. The conclusion - Chasing the light to Kirkjufell.
I had been watching these cloud formations grow/change since 11:00, as I got closer to Kirkjufell / Kirkjufellsfoss at 16:00, they seemed to get even more dramatic.
This is the most dramatic cloud formation that I have ever seen and for it to appear at my last photographic location made for a worthwhile trip.
What a finale to the chase!
Note: I believe that this formation is an acrus/shelf cloud.

I was putting things away in my truck this morning, my weekend home over and getting back on the road. I happen to look west as the moon was setting, so big, but bright outside and the moon was very faint. Decided to gamble and take a few pictures, then see what I could do in post.
The mountains are part of the Oquirrh Range, and below is the Kennecott mine, and below that is a fairly new private community called Day Break.
