Taken just before the blue hour kicked in along a stretch of canal in my home city of Nottingham. These apartments are mostly privately owned but can you believe some students live here? It's a far cry from the squalor I lived in during my degree days that's for sure. The guys I lived with were complete slobs too.
Anyway as I'm sure you'll agree it's not a bad place to live :)

Wow, quite a hiatus from Flickr for me.
I've been in San Diego almost a month and have only went out with photography in mind once. And that day the marine layer was close overhead and the light sucked, so no pictures.
I've been going out to some of my old haunts, not to shoot, but to just enjoy. With a camera in hand, I find that it's hard to properly relax. Now that I've gone out and truly enjoyed the SoCal beaches and sunsets I'm gonna start taking the camera out more. Promise.
This was taken somewhere in Utah on my drive out here. I really wish I could have devoted more time to Utah, and I will. The drive was gnarly. I don't recommend driving an economy car loaded down with all your crap through the Rockies. And then I hit Vegas the day after Independence Day and the traffic was the worst I've ever encountered. EVVVVVVVEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRR! It took two hours to get from Vegas to the California state line, and that ain't far.
San Diego is as I remember it. (like it's been years!) I have a different, but nicer apartment. The weather is the best in the world. Everyone here is complaining of the heat. It almost hit 80. I just have to laugh. The marine layer (morning & evening cloud cover that moves inland from the coast) has persisted pretty much since I've been here, but this time around I accept that it's just part of the deal. Last year I was cursing it, non stop.
Anyway, sorry for my absence and I'll start posting more.
This photo was taken in the Panier (Old Town of Marseille). Did you know that Marseille is one of the oldest cities in Europe?
