Maybe I can go to the Zoo am Meer this week. There the sisters of LALE (pictured here) are waiting for a first visit. The zoo is closed due to Corona.

It seems that for the past day or so, e-mail notifications from Flickr are not reaching me. I rely on them to keep track of who I need to reply to. So if I do not respond to your visit, I apologize in advance and hope Flickr gets its act together quickly.

I took this on the way up Munson Mountain in Penticton when were in the Okanagan recently. I posted one earlier from the same day, but from further up the mountain. There were benches all the way up the trail for those who couldn't make it up all in one go. There was still some smoke in the air from the forest fires, so although the view from the top was amazing, it was quite hazy.

HBM!

Before we start.

We got just over a foot of snow yesterday and this little one seems to be staring at a buried lilac bush bud mentally willing it to bloom. I'm sure his winter stash is running low but not to worry as I am giving him plenty to eat.

Now that February is behind us ...the anticipation of Spring & its unfolding flowers grows ever keener . This Germanium 'Gerwat' rozanne was unfolding in a local garden on a sunny morning last May ...

Thanks for the visit ....wishing you a happy March :-)

Pacific Beach, Washington

Earlier this month I spent a weekend out on the Washington coast. This area is further south and more developed than the wilderness beaches of Olympic National Park, but is still a beautiful section of beach and coastline, and a much shorter drive from home for me. In the area I was staying, the houses are up on a bluff above the beach (out of the tsunami hazard zone that exists on the low-lying areas of the coast), and there is a steep path leading from there down to the beach.

The trail begins in the trees, but the alluring sound of the ocean is easily heard and the unmistakable scent of saltwater is carried on the breeze. As the path winds its way lower, the trees thin out and the ocean beyond suddenly comes into view. At the sight of it my heart always lifts with joyous anticipation and I want to hurry down the path to reach the sand below. Although I did stop long enough to take a couple of photos of the view through the trees!

[Side note: this area is quite windy and you can see the impact that has on the trees and their branches.]

Closely watching fishermen dress their fish, the anticipation is palpable. There will be plenty of everybody, bills and bellies will be filled.

For the first time after a few months I visited our fishing lake last Friday. Although it is still Winter I could not wait to have a look around. The water level still has not reached the top but most of the effects of the last dry Summer are no longer visible. One for the purest. No texture just from the camera

Thanks so much for visits...!!! My daughter likes pure better than texture.

Every year I find myself smiling in anticipation, waiting for the leaves to show their true colors. Welcome back, Autumn!

Anticipation for spring and warmer temperatures, anticipation for end of covid, and so on. Maybe one of the strongest human emotions.

Spring has finally arrived. I went to the Public Gardens in Boston yesterday and captured a few tulip pictures. It was packed, given the fine weather.

The 400mm lens worked better for me with the tulips, as it made the background just fade away. I used my older camera for this one.

Happy Monday all!

My village was one of the first fishing villages in Maine. I've become acquainted with the lobster men and women as I'm often on the harbor early in the morning just as they are preparing to go to sea.

Lobster boats set out before sunrise anticipating a good "haul." It is a challenging way of life, especially now.
