I hope it is lighter than it looks for this poor guy. Maybe he's just tired.

Another invered calotype, this one with coating flaws and so forth. Still, I like the image. 8x10

With most responsibilities taken care of today, we should be happy. “Another Day Departs” making room for new plans, dreams and accomplishments. We will view the new Sunrise like a fresh hot cup of coffee or tea. Sadly, the Fall days seem to pass too quickly. When we witness beauty such as this, we can eagerly look forward to a colorful Sunrise full of the promise of peace. Be assured, Gratitude and Kindness will accompany the Sunrise.

Per la serie "foto da appostamenti segreti"... un altro scatto fatto sbirciando tra le fronde. Dalla passeggiata lungolago di Bled.

Another "hidden" shot... from between the trees on the shore of the Bled Lake.

No, this isn't from today but from about 2 weeks ago, which is bad enough. But now, it's April 11, and we're having yet another winter blast. Looking at the forecast, I think this will be the last one. But ...

Now, as a point of contrast, see my photo from this day last year (in Comments). Brian and I went on a little photo shoot on a very nice day.

Predaceous Ground Beetle (Scopodes tasmanicus)

Spotted in the garden during the week. Held for posting until I could confirm the ID.

This is another shot from my time yesterday at Phoenix Park, New South Wales. Australia. It was taken a couple of minutes before the image I posted yesterday. I think the lighting in this one is much better.

Yesterday, I wished you all a Happy Feathery Friday! Not wanting to be the only nutter around, I decided to find another one, and here he is!

The Nuthatch (Sitta europaea)

Wishing you all a great Friday and weekend!

Alien landscape photography! The closer you get to normal objects, the more surreal they look. Taken down Freshwater West Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Just another edit in LR4, still trying to find the magic formula...

Another view of Moraine lake in the late afternoon, with the long shadows of the trees on the water … walking along the lakeshore, you quickly lose the crowds that throng the viewpoints and a sense of tranquility pervades.

second day in a row a beautiful sunrise...

Sunrise at the old harbour in Cellardyke on the East East Neuk of Fife.

this is an old birdfeeder hanging on the side of my garage - HTT!

Yet another in what feels like a steady stream of cherry-red SD70ACUs, (not that I'm complaining!) CP 7037 in this case, leads an SD60 westward on the "Cut-Off" through downtown Milwaukee with a junk freight bypassing Muskego Yard. In what should be a few years, this line will be bereft of almost all freight traffic, as CP constructs a new double-track main through Muskego Yard itself, reducing conflicts with Amtrak traffic on the "Cut-Off".

This is another shot with the 200-500 combined with the Raynox close up lens. This little sweat bee is what drew me to the dandelion in the first place. And, by the way, still uncropped without vignetting!
