For Flickr Friday - Just another brick in the wall
We don't do bricks here in the Cotswolds, everything is made from local stone - and, of course, at this time of year, the dry stone walls get attacked by rain and frost, and they all come tumbling down....

Not just another brick in the wall, but a very import part of the building! This is an air brick which allows the void beneath the ground floor to be ventilated.
The standard size of an air brick is 102 x 65 x215mm. Thats the nerd part at least.

The wall is actually rotated 90 degrees from the original, the Arne Jacobsen-designed gas station north of Copenhagen (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skovshoved_Petrol_Station), the rest is a bit of lego nostalgia and masking

another brick in the wall
Hi Flickr Friends - it's been a while...
my hubby Dave had the knee surgery he has been putting off and my dad (who turned 99 in Nov) also needed some extra care, so these last few weeks have been crazy busy. I hope you are doing well and I look forward to catching up : )
This photo is dedicated to everyone who finds healthy eating a challenge. My personal nemesis is the British sweet biscuit and Bourbon Creams can easily lead me off the path. Each one is another brick in the wall when it comes to poor health!
These were laid out flat on a table after many failed attempts to make a free standing wall. Post processing to brighten a shadow cast by my camera, otherwise nothing but the narrowest of crops.
I should also add that I took about a hundred shots of actual bricks and brick walls before thinking of this.

Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall."

"Another Brick in the Wall" is a three-part composition on Pink Floyd's 1979 rock opera The Wall, written by bassist Roger Waters. "Part 2", a protest song against rigid and abusive schooling, features a children's choir.
"Part 2" was released as a single, Pink Floyd's first in the UK since "Point Me at the Sky" (1968). It became their only number-one single in the UK, the United States, West Germany and many other countries, and sold over four million copies worldwide. It was nominated for a Grammy Award, and was number 384 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

This photo was taken to illustrate the week's FlickrFriday theme #AnotherBrickInTheWall. "Another Brick in the Wall" is a Pink Floyd's song from the album The Wall. This song has for theme a protest against rigid education and schooling. So, this photo should be considered as a tribute to Pink Floyd (The wall) and Jean-Jacques Rousseau (L'émile) !
My house was built in 1650 and the walls are a patchwork of different materials depending on the era and the inspiration of stonemasons over the past 370 years ...The result produces harmonious abstractions. Let the imagination and the environment provide symbolic interpretations ...
Thank you for your visits and kind comments.
This is a submission for the Flickr Friday theme "Another Brick In The Wall."
