I stumbled across an Anonymous protest in Philadelphia today.

Not a great shot, but it's worth it for the sign.

Anonymous (used as a mass noun) is a group, spread through the Internet, initiating active civil disobedience, while attempting to maintain anonymity.

La máscara de la película "V de Venetta" que tanto se ha popularizado para simbolizar a los ciudadanos anónimos e indignados

Two protestors from a group called "Anonymous" paint a bar code on an American flag at the sidewalk of LA's City Hall for October 1st's Occupy LA rally. They said it was to represent "corporate corruption" in the United States.

Ao que parece, foram realizadas buscas e detidas pessoas de um grupo de Anonymous portugueses que se dedicariam a furar sistemas de segurança de instituições públicas ou privadas e divulgar dados nas redes sociais.

Parece que isso é crime e as autoridades terão actuado de acordo com a lei.

Mas já não é crime o comercializar dados obtidos através de contractos comerciais, obtendo lucro com isso e à revelia dos constantes nessas listas.

Essas actividades, feitas mais ou menos às claras e violadoras da privacidade dos cidadãos, desde que gerem lucros e, consequentemente, paguem impostos, já serão legais.

Diria Orwell: “Somos todos iguais, mas há uns mais iguais que outros”.
