# @ my new apartment bldg. -- since I'm too shy to introduce myself to each & every person living here (& since I had no wi-fi @ first), I parked here, w/ my laptop until 0400 approx., so people could become accustomed to my presence & to keep me connected wirelessly. Skäl!
location: Earth's Moon, Far-side
Willow Lake wsr: the gray streaks are reflections of tree trunks on a far hillside. I don't now what caused the distinct saturation change at the bottom third of the image: some quality of the lake water perhaps?

A really small poppy seed head, not properly developed having always been in the shadows of it's neighbours.
Getting these high pressure system skies in January here is very unusual. With these patterns, I couldn't resist getting out for some b/w photography on this day.
A small anomaly in the darkness left of the handle on the barn door, I looked inside the barn and saw nothing. eerie...
By the mid-1990s, you didn’t see many C30-7 units leading UP trains across the Los Angeles & Salt Lake Route. July 16, 1993 was an exceptional day when UP 2409 was assigned to lead a Hinkle, Oregon to Yermo, California drag between Lake Point and Erda, Utah. A second C30-7 was along for the pull with an SD40-2. A pair of SW10 yard goats were in transit, having been repaired in Salt Lake City, en route to Las Vegas.
As most of my photostream is from the limestone area of the Peak District where standing water is rare, pictures with reflections are very limited. I thought this little mere was due to the wet winter we've had, but it shows as a small blue dot on the map so must be a permanent feature
▒▒▒▒ Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Moth Infestation in Lower Sections of SomniCorp ▒▒▒▒
Dear [SomniCorp Facilities Management/Relevant Department],
I am writing on behalf of concerned staff members regarding a growing issue within the lower sections of our buildings that has persisted without adequate resolution—namely, the increasing presence of moths. This matter has become a significant nuisance, affecting both the productivity and morale of employees who work in these areas.
Ralph was right to not trust the scanners that said the atmosphere was safe for human respiration. Within a few seconds Ralph’s colleagues had a predicament on their hands...
A quick blood scan showed an extremely elevated 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) which is the most common marker for oxidative DNA damage and can be measured in virtually any species. Fortunately the effects may be reversible if they can get to the shuttle without their helmets. Ralph was on the verge of hysterical laughter every time he looked to his left and right but held it in and tried to hold a stoic face.😅

Snowfall of 12/13/25
Lincoln, Nebraska
Snowflakes are 6 sided crystals. 6 arms normally grow out from a center plate - except for this flake. While there are 6 main arms, they don't all start from a central point. It seems like all the snowflakes I photograph are flawed but this might be the strangest one of all.
I don't know enough geology to explain that weird layer of rock, but it was pretty photogenic. Detail of rock formation, Joshua Tree National Park, California.
Sulu: There is a strange spatial anomaly directly ahead of us sir!
Kirk: Full reverse!
Sulu: It's no good, sir, we can't break its pull, we're being sucked inside!
Great Salt Lake shoreline detail, White Rock bay, Antelope Island, Utah, USA
These crystal structures form in the Fall and Winter, as small pools evaporate. I was struck by the out of place leaf that ended up here, separated from the nearest foliated areas by hundreds of yards of lifeless sand and dried mud.
Actually, the closer I look at it, the less certain I am that it is a leaf. What do you reckon it is?
