My very first BeGoth doll. Found her at the flea market NIB for $10. Wish I could have gotten more than one. The guy I got her from had over a dozen different ones all for the same price.

One of the new varieties of Echinacea, Big Sky Sunrise, blooming here with the ever popular Annabelle hydrangea. In the background, acanthus.
The Annabelles flank the path for the summer solstice but continuing for another month or so.
Very happy to get the news
about an hour ago that my
nephew Jason & his wife
Katy had their first baby today -
Annabelle Sofia Miller!
Born at about 10:30 PST
on this day of
November 17, 2009.
Jason is my sister's eldest
son - the oldest of my nephews
and nieces - I remember well when
he was born - and when my
sister Peggy brought him home
from the hospital-
I was there snapping
photos, of course
(with film! This was 31
years ago).
Now his daughter is born-
the first member of her
generation in our clan -
so that my beamish boy is no
longer the youngest member of
our family.
And they live in Northern
California - not that far from us-
so be expecting photos of this
little girl as she grows up.
Welcome to the world,
Annabelle!
Sim!
Annabelle will be heading down to the valley for the winter soon.
I remember the first time they moved them... I'm in a conference call, and all of sudden I hear what sounds like a round-up - with whoops and moos - I look out the window and sure enough there are guys on horses herding the babies into a big trailer for the short ride to the valley. so not high tech.

so, annabelle is close to done at this point. she only has two sets of eyechips right now. 2 more are on the way. i think i'll go with either a pink or a purple and maybe a milky white...? the ones she has now are blue and gray/black. :)
i'm really liking her. she's got her imperfections... mainly a slice by her lip. i am getting better at the actual carving but i still have wonky hands. i'm always SLIPPING with the freaking file and scratching the face.
i'm wondering what would happen if i put electrical tape on the dolls face around the lip area... lol? would that help at all? would the doll be sticky forever? i don't know... i'm just trying to think of a way NOT to scrape the hell out of the face while carving.
also, for those of you who carve lips... what tools do you use and where do you buy them?
i am pretty sure that the files i use came from prilly charmin... but, they sorta suck. i've broken a bunch of them... and, others arrived sort of broken (the sharp ends already snapped off a bit!). so, if anyone has a good source for carving tools... i'd love a recommendation.
