I see some aquatic birds returning to the river already and I have been thinking about the pending glory of April and May - hence this foray into my archive.
This capture from a homemade floating blind - from my first season using it. This angry looking bird lighted on a treefall in the river so close as to be flirting with the MFD for my long lens. This capture full frame. A beautiful moment - one of many from the perspective of the blind.

The Sayaca Tanager is widely distributed across South America, ranging from eastern Brazil and Bolivia to northern Argentina. It prefers open woodlands, gardens, and urban spaces, adapting well to human presence. Its diet consists of fruits, seeds, and insects, and it often forages in small flocks. While Sayaca Tanagers usually have a calm demeanor, this photograph reveals an unusual display of anger towards another tanager.
