It's almost the 8th month since my final chemotherapy treatment and I am still on the mend. I just need to be patient. Never my strong suit, mind you. Though I'm actually doing pretty well. Still afflicted with CIPN (Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy). Chemotherapy drugs many times damage the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which connects our brains and spinal cords to the rest of our bodies. The swelling of my ankles and feet is slowly dissipating, though my toes are still numb. From late July 2025 until mid-November 2025 both of my feet were completely numb. Felt really strange walking.
I still have not yet been able to walk to my place of employment in the morning's, as the joints of my lower extremities are quite sore upon waking. Though I have walked home a few times. Prior to treatment I would walk to my office, round trip, every single day, rain or shine. It's less than a 1/2 hour walk.
To counteract that I have been performing light stretching exercises each morning and have begun taking the train to/from Court Square, where I then walk to my office, 3/10ths of a mile away. It's something. I just need to keep the faith in all of this. And life is good

My neighborhood desperately needs additional supermarkets and for the past several years now there's been a huge influx of Asian citizens moving into the area. Whoever's responsible for constructing this Asian-centric supermarket is going to make a fortune

The Greenstreets program converts paved, vacant traffic islands, and medians into green spaces filled with trees, shrubs, and groundcover in an effort to capture stormwater.
The program is a part of the NYC Green Infrastructure Plan. All funding for Greenstreet construction under this plan is administered by the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).
Green Infrastructure
This is very significant as they're upgrading sidewalk access by installing Pedestrian Ramps for strollers, wheelchairs, and older and or disabled citizens. This area is presently undergoing a huge building boom, and this is another green light for them to continue

In New York City, public urination is a civil offense, not a criminal offense, and is covered by Section 16-118 of the Administrative Code. First-time offenders can receive a fine of up to $75, with subsequent offenses within 12 months resulting in fines of $250–$350 for a second offense and $350–$450 for a third offense. Offenders will receive a civil ticket instead of a criminal summons and will not have a criminal record if found guilty. Administrative courts may also require offenders to perform community service.

The Fifty
Stupid name for a building. Seems these new buildings may be receiving some kind of write off if they think up the dumbest, quirkiest name.
Founded in 1972 by Paisios of Tyana. The monastery is located in the heart of Astoria in New York and named in honor of Saint Irene.
In its original form, the monastery consisted of roughly forty square feet of space in a basement of a house located where the holy shrine of St. Irene sits today. Today, the monastery itself is located in a 3-floor complex on Ditmars Blvd, the shrine of St. Irene on 23rd avenue is over forty feet high and the monastery’s main offices are located across the street from the shrine.
Architecture:
St. Irene of Chrysovalantou is a large modern church which has been transformed into an Orthodox sanctuary. The exterior has had some Byzantine style motifs added, and the interior is a beautiful mixture of classical architecture and intricate icons.

For months on end my living room was boxed up, in preparation for upcoming electrical construction work, which finally concluded last Tuesday. So, I have been unboxing, streamlining and bringing it all back anew. I look at my apartment as an ongoing art project
And I was able to finally re-hang my beaded curtains, as well as my new Norens, doorway curtains. My two living room doorways each have two sets of curtains. Beaded and cloth. Linen. Which forces one to slow down when they pass through them. It's just me expressing myself. There's not a need to rush here. This is my Shangri-La.

In December 1883, developer William Henderson hired architect John C. Burne to design two identical flat buildings at 107 and 109 East 89th Street just east of Fourth Avenue (renamed Park Avenue in 1888). Completed in August 1884, each had cost Henderson $21,000 to construct (about $659,000 in 2024 terms).

Komatsu Ltd. Its headquarters are in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The corporation was named after the city of Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture, where the company was founded in 1921. Worldwide, the Komatsu Group consists of Komatsu Ltd. and 258 other companies (215 consolidated subsidiaries and 42 companies accounted for by the equity method).
Komatsu is the world's second largest manufacturer of construction equipment and mining equipment after Caterpillar. However, in some areas (Japan, China), Komatsu has a larger share than Caterpillar. It has manufacturing operations in Japan, Asia, Americas and Europe.

On August 16, 2025 I shall turn 63. Pretty amazing. I feel really good
Been having my Bengali barber (I live in a small Bengali enclave) shave my head every 3rd Sunday. Feels great. They don't use shaving cream, instead, they massage an oil into your scalp after which they shave it with a straight razor. Really wicked
