And so it begins (sad face).

I want to thank each and everyone who took the time to visit my little space here on Flickr. Have a super day!
Kevin told all his friends here that he built the snowman and asked me to take their photo in front of it. They believed he built it.
The "snow falling" was added in ON1 Photo Raw 2024 with the Vintage Weather preset.

Kevin tried to pass of my snowman as his. He kept telling me he built it while I was shoveling the stairs and the two decks. He is such a teller of tall tales.

One of the things I miss most, being an expat, is celebrating Thanksgiving with my Mom's family. It was a big family, with two star quarterbacks (brothers), and we always had the big family game, brother's team, against brother's team. That all changed when Donny (the younger brother) went off to set records at Virginia Tech, and Davey, his older brother went to VMI, then on to VT as well. It was never the same without them.Crazy fun. I haven't celebrated American Thanksgiving in almost 40 years. :-( Miss it.
The scary season has started

This should go into the new Ken Burns' documentary "The Story of Food: And how It Lost Its Way." I can hear Peter Coyote's voice invoking Orwell as the camera glides across this lovely illustration but ultimately fastens onto that last paragraph: "So next time you ask for canned vegetables, (it's implied that you will) remember that the word "canned" simply means "garden freshness sealed in." There's a special place in hell for that copywriter who will be enjoying canned fruit cocktail for all eternity.
Love - how could you not Love this sign, it's huge my FAVORITE part of the wedding!!!!! I will be sad to see it go ;D
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth of sun-split clouds -
and done a hundred things You have not dreamed of -

2011. The year is on. And at work, as we jump right into it, we start over again - with all the pieces laid out in front of us and a good idea of what success looks like - but now we start putting all the pieces together to get there to achieve that goal. It'll be a year long process that ends when this threefivesix project ends as well. So, when I saw this abandoned puzzle in the office today, it served as a nice metaphor for the day and thus the photo for 006.
We're fortunate to have been givin this sukkah by friends who were no longer using it -- basically, the lumber, with the connecting hardware left attached to some of the boards, stored in our toolshed most of the year, and brought out around Rosh Hashonah.

A continuing attempt to photograph a stranger a day, every day, for all of 2007.
Homeowners in Toronto were busy all weekend inflating their Santa Claus lawn blow-up. The Santa slasher was busy too. No sooner was Jolly Ol Saint Nick, up and wave at the kids, they were nicked by the dreaded slasher, Picture taken by cell phone near Sherwood Park

well, i wrote a description a while ago, but somehow it got deleted or didn't save. i started this project because i've seen a few friends do it and i've seen them grow immensely through it, not just with their photography, but just in general, in themselves, as a person. i'm going through some tough stuff right now (which i don't feel like explaining) and i need a way to work through it. i'm 19 days through it (as i'm writing this) and it's already helped me so much... and i'm improving in my photography (so i've been told). i'm excited to see what happens in this... i've already learned so much.
The first frame from a redscale Diana test roll -- this partial is from the building that once housed The White Elephant Saloon in FBG, Texas (there were 3 'round the state -- Bat Masterson was a regular at the one in Ft. Worth).
