Here's the always
delightful and magical
Amy O'Neill, who my
perspicacious pal
Syd said is the "queen of
Hollywood," and I agree.
(See: ॐ In search of Syd here
on this very flickr.)
When I
first met her, she had her mime makeup
on, and I knew her only as the mime for
quite a while before getting to know
and adore the Amy
under the whiteface.
Here she is in a Hollywood alleyway,
where we did a wonderful
photo session, and from which
I still have a profusion of raw
and great photos.
Amazingly, I could not find Amy eye liner anywhere. So I made this. If anyone want's it, message me and I'll give you!

Newly married near Edinburgh, New Yorkers Amy and Morgan were on a visit to Glasgow on their honeymoon when they kindly allowed me to photograph them early this month. The can of lager was a "prop" which had been lying in Marks & Spencer's doorway here on Virginia Street.
Another Senior portrait session with Eden Prairie High School student Amy. She's a rock star with a nice new Eclipse to drive around!

Here's the wonderful Amy,
for all you Amy fans, of which I
am the head of the club, onstage
at the El Cid, sweetly and flawlessly
spinning the big sky-blue ball
on her beautiful golden umbrella. This is the
happy night that I first saw Amy without her mime
makeup. Happy to report I will see Amy this weekend
at an art-show, and if the universe smiles on me,
as it has been lately, I will be allowed to take
some more pictures of her.
A bronze statue of the record breaking aviator Amy Johnson (1903-1941). First woman to fly solo from England to Australia.
She took off from Croydon Air Field, and landed 19 days later in Darwin northern territories.
She was awarded the CBE by King George V in 1930.
She broke many records, and received many awards in her flying career.
In World War ll, she flew for the (ATA) achieving 'First Officer', delivering RAF aircraft around the country.
In January 1941 she was flying a twin engined Airspeed Oxford, from Prestwick to RAF Kidlington.
She went off course in bad weather, and reportedly out of fuel, she bailed out as her plane crashed just off the coast at Herne Bay Kent.
A ship near bye, HMS Haslemere, attempted a rescue.
But Amy couldn't reach the ropes thrown for her.
The Captain, Lt Commander Walter Fletcher, divided in to try and save her. But she was lost under the ship.
Lt Commander Fletcher died a few days later from the intense cold.
He was posthumously awarded the Albert medal.
Amy's body was never found. Just her flight bag and log book washed up on the shore.
Just behind the Statue is Herne Bay Pier.

Amy is an actress who recently moved back to Minnesota from Los Angeles. We'd been in contact since the spring and were finally able to get together to shoot two weeks ago! She is super awesome and I'm really excited to shoot with her (and just hang out with her!) again soon!! :)
