Here on Galiano Island I recently photographed DJ and producer Mya Ceilidh Hardman AKA Applecat as a part of the exciting Amplify Her film project.

International Storyteller, beat weaver, poet, and vocalist, AppleCat was raised on the West Coast of Canada. Music has been her number one passion since they day she was born. Poetry and grace, mixed with live mashup, reworking and mixed tempo sets bending the perception of "genre" and blending sweet melody, dirty deep bass with a little "je ne sais quoi."

As a major part of its effort to reinvent elementary and secondary school curriculum, Amplify is producing an ambitious portfolio of digital games, including for English Language Arts and STEM. The games are being conceptualized and developed by leading independent game designers as well as veterans of top commercial game studios. For the first time, these designers, from across the United States and the United Kingdom, are gathering at a public event to discuss this work and share what they have done so far.
Amplified Geochemical Imaging, LLC (AGI) Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting (Relocation from MD to DE)
Amplified Geochemical Imaging LLC (AGI), which provides geochemical imaging services for petroleum exploration, minerals exploration and environmental investigations, was joined by Gov. Jack Markell, Lt. Gov. Matt Denn and other government and local officials for the grand opening of its new 20,000-square-foot facility south of Newark. The company recently relocated from Elkton, Md. to an existing building in Pencader Corporate Center, combining its headquarters and lab space under one roof. AGI conducts surveys for oil and gas exploration which are used to explore for gas, condensate and oil hydrocarbons onshore and offshore, in all terrains, geographies and climates. The company’s passive sampler detects more than 90 compounds emitted by charged reservoirs in a parts-per-trillion range. The results of those surveys are analyzed at the Newark facility. AGI was awarded a Strategic Fund Performance Grant for bringing 22 jobs to Delaware and creating nine new jobs, as well as a Strategic Fund Capital Expenditure Grant.

The group stayed faithful to the venue and to the long improvisational pieces which have been brought forth during the night and characterized the group. More precisely, throughout the course of two sets, and two 45 minutes songs, the musicians have achieved to attain the invisible landscape of the human mind. From soft tantric like hypnotizing ostinatos, to rugged seizure like passages, the music explored the finest and deepest corners of honesty. Music can't lie, and it tries to do so even to a lesser extent when it is the fecondation of improvisation and soulfulness which can coexist on a very narrow edge that separates a total flunk from perceptual beauty. More to come from these fine musicians... It is only a matter of time

This is a Michaels frame that I will put a mirror in. The colours are a bit out of my comfort zone, All 7 Chakra colours are represented. I decided against mosaicking the edges a I'm very happy with the result.
