As a petrol head, sometimes when I see a car I have the feeling that I have seen it before. That's how I felt when I saw this beautiful Cuda. And I was right. I spoke a little with the owner and he told me that he usually participates at the local classic car show, called Cruising Downtown, that happens every year. And I remember that I shared a picture of it here. So nothing more to say about this muscle as I have already shared all the info of it 2 years ago. And here's the picture from that day:

One of the things that got affected by this (still ongoing) pandemic, was public gatherings in general. Among them, car shows all over the world that got cancelled due to covid. As we are now going back to a certain level of normality, events like these are finally back. A few weeks ago a local club of muscle car owners organized a show in Deerfield, NH and more than 1100 proud owners brought their beauties to the contest. This here is a 1970 Dodge Super Bee equiped with a 7.0 Hemi V8 producing a whopping 425HP. Its name, Super Bee, is based on the "B" Body designation which refers to Chrysler's mid-sized cars like the Road Runner and the Charger. The engine has a hemispherical cylinder head (compared to the usual flat-topped one), which creates an efficient combustion chamber with an excellent surface-to-volume ration. Its shape though does allow for only 2 valves per cylinder which have to be heavier thatn in a multi-valve engine.

54 Years and counting (all original).

Just the car and some rocks (without the added reflection).

Among the muscle cars, I consider the 'Cuda (full name is Plymouth Barracuda) as one of the rarest because it was only produced for 10 years (1964 - 1974). My favorite version is the "Hemi" 'Cuda, which, under the hood, has the 7.0L Hemispherical V8 producing 425HP. Here, however, we have its little brother, the 440 Cuda that runs on a 7.2 V8 that delivers 390HP to the wheels. The interesting fact about this one is that its purple color is not a modern paint job. The 1971 'Cuda was released with very unique options like special decal sets, hood modifications and several "high impact" colors like this "in-violet". I will say that the Cuda, with its big engine and unusual colors, is quite the head-turner muscle car!

I love this color and it is a convertible.

So, Cindy took the Charger out the other day for a little fresh air. ;-)

With full apologies to Edward Hopper, I present a variation on his classic "Summer Evening" with another predictable addition.

With sincere apologies to Scottish artist Jack Vettriano and his masterpiece "The Singing Butler", I've been wanting to do this one for a while. :-)

I love the art and design from Oblivion. This is Sky Tower 49 from the movie with my small and predictable addition.

The amazing digital artist who did the original image can be found here.

You know, when you're going that for perfect Shot... ;-)

Well, that's not what's going on here. It's just some "trompe l'oeil" aka (to fool the eye) to sharpen my digital editing skills. I know that in 38 years I've taken it on some truly amazing adventures but I'm pretty sure I've never taken the Charger quite this far off road.

I took this photo of the late afternoon sky while standing in my front yard a few summers ago but I had never figured out how to use it, until now.

Happy Valentine's Day. :-)

Dug up from the archives of my former flickr page, which made the "Explore" list in the late 2000s. I thought it'd be worth posting it here. In 2005, Chrysler had an Imperial Concept that never materialised. I can only imagine that the Magnum, 300, Charger, and Imperial being on the streets today. The last Imperial that rolled off the assembly line was in 1993 and was replaced with the LHS in 1994. 1993 was also the last year of the Imperial brand.

Not much need to be said about this one. When you see this horse decorating your car, you know that it will put a smile on your face every time you drive it. It has over a year since I took this picture at the "2017 Cruising Downtown" event in Manchester, NH so at this point I don't recall more details about this beautiful Mustang. But that's why i decided to go with a more abstract approach as a present her focusing more on her very distinctive logo.

This is a re-edit of a photo I took in 2012. Looking back, it was a perfect evening and I really liked the original but I wanted to see if I could make the car literally jump out of the picture, color, clarity, and contrast-wise (without touching the background). My editing skills have improved quite a bit in the last 4 years so I took a shot at it. I think it turned out pretty decent.

Again, with sincere apologies to Scottish artist Jack Vettriano, I present his work "The Billy Boys" with a slight and somewhat predictable addition.

With Reflection - Last One in the Series.

Michael Kohl came all the way from Kalispell, MT. in his green 1968 Charger to attend an "All Charger" meet here in Spokane. Before he headed back we went to one of my favorite spots and took a few pictures. It was a fun and spontaneous shoot.

I had no idea that Jack Vettriano was a Mopar fan!

Happy New Year! :- D

Same car, same spot, many years gone by.

A simple side view on a black background (with added reflection).

A confluence of design, crop, sunlight, and shadow. :- )

While on a wildfire with my team in Southern Oregon, I did a new edit on a photo I had taken in 2012. Considering I had just a few minutes each day to work on it over the 14 day assignment I think it turned out pretty sweet. Heading home on Tuesday! :-)

Chevrolet Camaro shot with the Olympus E-M1.

Here is a look "way" back at some of my favorites from when I started in 2010 all the way through 2017.

Going forward, (unless inspiration strikes) I'm going to spend more time driving the Charger and less time coming up with another unique image of it. Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive. I really appreciated it.

I'm going to still visit Flickr and will continue to favorite a number of the amazing photos that I run across. Don't worry about faving back, I'm good. I just love seeing the depth of creativity that is out there.

Have a fantastic 2018 and beyond.

Making lemonade out of lemons here. I was trying to capture the car with the Strawberry Moon in the background but the image was too dark, so decided to have some fun with it and here is the result. It turned out pretty nice. :-)

I haven't done it yet but I can just imagine taking the Charger on this epic road trip. Heading south into Monument Valley, U.S. Route 163 is definitely the stuff dreams are made of. It's endless vistas, sweeping turns, and long stretches would definitely give me (and the Charger's 150 MPH speedometer) a full workout. It would be incredible.

A bit of a digital styling exercise. Chopped and Dropped.

It was interesting to see how even though I digitally trimmed 3 or 4 inches (guessing here) off of the height of the roof and re-shaped the wing window frame, it still looks balanced and almost factory.

The Car d’Lane Cruise is coming up Friday and I am looking forward to a fun cruise with the family and an opportunity for a few pics.

In the meantime, I have been wanting to at least try and "finish" this photograph for a very long time. I originally created a square avatar out of small portion out of it and it looked great but it had some major challenges as an entire photograph (if I showed you, you wouldn't believe it).

I could never quite figure out how to approach it until now and It took some work but I like the way it turned out. I was trying to duplicate the quality of the original cropped post and I think it went well.

Taken at the Annual Scholarship Car Show held in downtown Spokane on Riverside Avenue (where I actually used to cruise as a teenager), this re-visit of an old shoot makes number three in the series.

It's June and I'm really pumped because some of the best car cruises of the summer are just around the corner. The Car d’Lane Cruise, my favorite, is held in nearby Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on the third Friday of June and there are two really good downtown Spokane shows coming up right after that.

Looks like I was in pretty good company.

It's been a long time, it's a new year, and I was feeling a bit creative so here you go. A little parody on parody action with (my) parody of Gottfried Helnwein's parody "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" of the true classic "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper.

Going for a moody "Storm Thorgerson - Pink Floyd" album cover sort of a look here.

I'm betting the driver is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

The main reason I've posted this is someone took a low resolution copy of my original (it's ok, I get it), made it a black and white, and splashed it all over the internet, so... I decided "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" and created a monochrome version of my own. ;-)

Saw this car on a walk in Memphis, TN

Even after 43 springtimes of ownership, I'm still a bit pleasantly surprised when the original engine in the Charger fires right up. There's something to say for consistency. :- )

Another image I created some time ago but never posted.

A shot from the streets of Spokane.

I ran across this quote online a few years back where someone had used it to describe a 1968 Charger and thought it was crazy awesome. The Charles Atlas reference goes back to a 1970's magazine ad for a "Dynamic Tension" training program that was both hilarious and one I probably could have used at the time. :-)

The Dodge Dart is one of these cars with long history where you say "i wish the car maker never revived the brand" because the modern Dart has nothing to do with this beautiful car. I was relaxing near a lake just a few miles from where I live when I heard a loud roaring. I knew something interesting was approaching. I quickly grabbed my cell (i didn't have my camera with me), and headed towards the parking lot where I saw this 1972 Dodge Dart Demon. As you can see its owner kept it in stunning condition, with original parts and repainted with the factory yellow color. I want to say "under the hood" but since there is no hood (LOL) I will rephrase to "in the engine bay" there is a 5,6L (340 cubic inches) V8 with 2 4-barrel carburetors (pretty visible in the photo) that produces 275hp which delivers to the rear, obviously, wheels through a 4 speed manual transmission.
