We own this drawing by Ted Grohs. My dad rescued it from the trash dump when Volpar went out of business.
American Airlines 7: DFW - OGG (Kahului), Boeing 767 - 300, flying at 44600ft AMSL. This flight was over 200 minutes late on March 24th 2009, halfway through its flight from Dallas to Kahului while it overflew the San Francsico Bay Area over Palo Alto (25 miles south of SFO, and between SFO and SJC). It still had 3 more hours to fly before reaching Hawaii.
I’m in the Air Force, worked with 22’s and every pilot I’ve talked to talks like this. Super knowledgable of their aircraft and very, very down to earth. I’ve heard stories of people meeting the super douche pilots, but I haven’t come across one yet. Definitely Type A personalities but really chill. Heavies pilots are like the introverts but still really fucking cool.
I support F-16’s now and gained a whole new respect for that. 22 will always have a special place in my heart bc they’re badass but 16’s aren’t even supposed to fly on paper. It’s all thrust that keeps that thing in the air. It’s wild. The wing span is insanely short.
I love fighters. I was supposed to get an incentive flight twice in a 16 but something came up so I got passed over. Sucks. Maybe one day.

This Boeing 737, owned by Automatic LLC, arrived earlier from Bangor International Airport. It had previously been stored at Orlando-Sanford International Airport and is an ex. Lufthansa airframe D-ABIP. It left the next day for Bucharest-Aurel Vlaicu Airport where it was to be converted to YR-AMC with Blue Air.
Delta Air Lines Boeing 757 taxying to depart off runway 23 to John F Kennedy International Airport as "DELTA266". This example started life 20 years ago with TWA, hence registration, until TWA was acquired by American Airlines in 2001. Deemed surplus to requirements it was sold to Delta in 2007 when the winglets were fitted. Delta started a new summer service between Glasgow and New York in May this year.
Seen taxying along taxiway Alpha to depart a frosty Glasgow for Toronto as "TSC325". This Airbus is now over 25years old having started life with Emirates before transferring to Air Transat in 2001.
American Airlines and before that US Airways have been operating a summer season to Philadelphia from Glasgow for a number of years now as I first logged this aircraft in 2009.
Seen taxying to depart for Toronto is Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767. This is a new airline for Glasgow and just started flight this summer season. This flight was held up due to technical reasons and didn't depart until after 2:00pm instead of about 9:00am.
