Met up with Amanda and her sister, Angela last night for a quick shoot. I've been looking for a good MUA to work with on model shoots and I think I found her. Lots of energy on set and a ton of fun to shoot. I'll have more up with her sis in a few days. 5Dii + Sigma 85

Strobist: Einstein with socked BD boomed on axis above about 9' and silver reflector below. ABR800 with 30° grid and standard reflector for the BG.

Warning!!!! Please no creepers. I've had a big issue recently with folks who favorite it only to check and they have no photostream but go around favoriting pics of women. This is not that kind of photography and I will block anyone who favorites it that doesn't have a photostream with recent relative photo's of their own. It's sketchy and will be dealt with promptly. I apologize to those who legitimately leave feedback Thanks and enjoy!

Between April 25 and May 13, a period of about 2-1/2 weeks, I did not take a single picture. That is an unusually long hiatus for me, but was really nothing to be concerned about; I just lacked inspiration for a season, and didn't want to waste my time taking and uploading mere snapshots. But I finally contacted my favorite photography instructor, Miss Amanda Lee, and told her I needed further instruction and guidance from her. She told me there would be a grand re-opening on Saturday at Matilda's Closet, an antique shop in Glendale, Arizona, and we arranged to have one of her classes there.

I will have more to say in another post about Matilda's Closet, which is as delightful an establishment as I have ever visited; but I came home that day with more than 50 new pictures of Amanda, this being the first of them to be uploaded. This experience was the second big highlight of my week, the other having taken place during the noon hour two days before, when I danced a rumba with Johanna Summerville to the tune of "Guantanamera." (She had come to visit me at work.)

Stay tuned for more photos and more stories about this little excursion. For this photo, incidentally, I used my Nikkor 18-55mm zoom lens, which I rarely use at all these days. It was the only lens in my arsenal that could give me a sufficiently wide angle of view for this photo.
