”A very special Knob

You won’t find in any Shop

Eager to create something Special

That leads you to a different Level

It might be somewhat Abstract

Just made of something wrapped

In a Piece of shiny Alu Foil

Which might cause a big Turmoil…

Don’t worry, but be HaPpY

It’s not that very CrApPy“

On March 31, 2021 hard working A-RTS 2143 032 was the power for train 61880 from Wels to Braunau loaded with aluminium. It was eagerly awaited by a group of photographers while slowly climbing the grade to Pram-Haag.

Europe, Netherlands, Noord Holland, Station Hilversum Media Park, De Kijkbuis Footbridge, People (slightly cut from B&T)

The 'Kijkbuis' footbridge (September 2011) connects Station Hilversum Media Park (former names: Hilversum Noord and Hilversum NOS) with the Media Park itself. It is an aluminium and wooden structure (the weathered bottom part) The perforated cladding signifies radio waves. Design: Meyer en van Schoten Architecten. Realisation: Strukton Infratechniek.

There is some controversy over the name. The municipality of Hilversum still calls it ‘De Kijkbuis’, ProRail (the Dutch rail infrastructure organization), and the architects, prefer ‘Via de Kijkbuis´.

The footbridge replaced an earlier one that was demolished in 2013.

I covered an ornamental fish with crumpled aluminium foil and then coloured the image using Photoscape Colorfill.

Monochrome still-life featuring a selection of aluminium items.

Those familiar with his work will realise that this is HEAVILY influenced my the work of photographer Christopher Broadbent. I recently discovered his still-lifes and was inspired to have a go at something in his style. The reflective nature of the material made this quite challenging and required a different method of post-production.

I realise that the composition is a bit tight in the frame. I'll have another go soon!
