I thought I had missed the Apenglow shot as I hung out waiting on a frosty Kala Patar. Ominous clouds tried to close of the shot all afternoon but perseverance prevailed and I managed to get this snap.

I waited until 6:00 pm for some alpenglow on the summit...bloody freezing.

There can be traffic jams in the icefall. It is often easier although not necessarily safer to abseil down rather than wait for the ladder to be free.
