Does one of your girls have one? Wish she had one? You get the idea... if not...here's a little explanation and some examples courtesy of wiki :)
Alter Ego: (Latin, "the other I") is a second self, a second personality or persona within a person, who is often oblivious to the persona's actions. It was coined in the early nineteenth century when dissociative identity disorder was first described by psychologists. A person with an alter ego is said to lead a double life... Less precisely, alter ego can also refer to the different behaviors any person may display in various situations.
Examples:
Clark Kent is Superman's alter ego in the Superman comics.
Batman is the alter ego of Bruce Wayne in the Batman comics.
Spider-Man is the alter ego of Peter Parker in the Spider-Man comics.
OK, get the idea? :) So put your thinking cap on, and come up with one of your girls Alter Egos!
Post pics from now thru Monday April 12th!

This is my favorite Melanie on the planet! She's been looking after me while I prepare for my mini-me and was also there when I needed to vanquish a roommate from hell. Everyone needs a Melanie in her corner!
I used one AB800 in a beauty dish directly above the camera. She was about 13 feet from the white background which allowed it to go gray.

Self Portraits: Me, Myself, and Someone I’m not
I am a freshman student and photographer at St. Joseph Academy. I enjoy taking pictures that make my audience think, as well as using Photoshop tools to add quality features. Pastel colors and vintage themes are the most amusing to me when I take photos. Looking through couture fashion magazines influence me because I notice the natural and alluring beauty. This is my first year of taking photography, and I have greatly learned to love the unique thinking and patience it requires.
When assigned a project in class, I spend much time researching and brainstorming for a creative and captivating idea. Looking at professional photographers’ work inspires me to not only aim for my best, but have a different perspective of lighting, angle, colors, and subjects. Creating a photo that is easy to relate to, especially for teen girls like me, is a goal for me when I am using my camera. To construct for “photo shoot,” I basically use things I can find around my house; I achieve my best with what I have. My pieces of work usually take me on average of 4 hours, only because I’m very hard on myself to perfect the photography since it’s a reflection on myself. Also, I look over my final photos to check if their any emotion conveyed as well as any thinking involved top figure out the story behind the photo.
For the project to create a traditional self portrait that represents me, I wanted to portray me as a funny and simple person. Therefore, I took my photo in front of a unique, bright wall, and blew a bubble to show that I am a comical and carefree person, instead of preppy and uptight. I used item I found around my house, and in Photoshop I decided to use an action that made the warmth of the photo to be seventies and almost seem like a Polaroid shot. I believe, this photograph of my self portrait is charming, relatable, and one-of-a-kind.
For the photo of the alter ego, I wanted to represent an image of a girl who is taking the wrong path in life by partying along with heavy drinking. I used a not so typically setting and set-up the bathroom as if it had been trashed because of a party. The many multiple objects I choose may have the viewers’ eyes all over the picture, but that was my goal. Also, I choose a vintage coloring and feel to the photo by making changes in Photoshop. To me, this photo is very different from my traditional self portrait, and can show how different some lives really are.
