I took an early morning hike to Eaton Falls. From the Pinecrest gate, it is a 1.25 mile hike in with 11 creek crossings. The water was really flowing because of all the rain in Southern California this past season. I arrived early enough on a weekday to have the place to myself for a while before the first group of hikers arrived. Altadena, California, USA, May 2023

As the seasons struggle to define themselves, today we were treated to one of the last fog banks before the summer heat settles in.
How about that? ... a little color on my stream to break up winter's white. This was the sunset at my sister's house just a couple/few days before the fires broke out. Luckily, her house was spared, but unfortunately many of her neighbors and friends lost their homes and will have to rebuild. I have several friends in the Pacific Palisades who also lost their homes. It's going to take several years to recover from that fire. Altadena, California, USA, January 2025

My wife's antique Mouli grater -- she has had this for 50 years and it has been well used and loved.

It was going to be a hot day, but it was nice and cool that morning at Eaton Canyon Falls. I was able to get there and make a few different compositions before a big group of hikers showed up. This was from the middle of the runoff stream. Altadena, California, USA, May 2023
