I think this is another shot on the climb to the top of Mont Blanc. My partner Robin Sedgewick is a superb alpinist but suffered terribly from altitude sickness. We spent a very cold overnight in our sleeping bags and bivi-sacs and set off about 3am for the summit, which we hoped to make about sunrise and then a quick descent before the rising sun made the snow soft and dangerous. After a couple of hours Robin was so bad he had to return. I carried on, the upper slopes being no more than a snow plod and made it as the sun was putting his hat on for the day. Well chuffed.
С таким видом из окна мы проснулись в середине октября 2008 года на высоте около 2300 метров в горном отеле Глокнерхаус. Потом приняли душ, отлично и сытно позавтракали и поехали рассматривать вершину и ледник. На фотке справа видна дорога по которой мы туда направились.
