What a thrill! Looking up close at striped melon-like buds from which these dark orange filaments and stamens are erupting! What I would give to be that bee... and have a "bee's eye view" of that sweet, bright orange powdery pollen!
Aloe vera, also known as the true or medicinal aloe, is a species of succulent plant that is presumed to have originated in the southern half of the Arabian peninsula, Northern Africa, the Canary islands, and Cape Verde. Aloe vera grows in arid climates and is widely distributed in Africa, India, and other arid areas. The species is frequently used in herbal medicine. There is preliminary evidence that Aloe vera extracts may be useful in the treatment of wound and burn healing, minor skin infections, Sebaceous cyst, diabetes and elevated blood lipids in humans. These positive effects are thought to be due to the presence of compounds such as polysaccharides, mannans, anthraquinones and lectins.

A snowfall of minor proportions...went out chasing dreamy snow scenes...the camera was getting wet, so the effort was short-lived..the results...OK, I suppose...at least the dogs got out for a quick run:-)) We came inside and I sat the camera down on the counter of my passageway like always. I turned around and realized the photo op had been inside the whole time...at least that's what I felt. Here is a piece of leaded glass that I purchased from a really cool shop in the Outer Banks...only problem was that I hated this piece and don't know why I purchased it. Here, It actually looks kind of cool. It was a pretty snow...
