During my morning walk I discovered a perch where young barn swallows where fed by the parents. After my walk, I returned home to get my gear and by the time I got back to the location it was all over... At least one young was still coming back to the perch and hoping for a visit from the parents with a free meal... but no luck, he was not being fed... you are on your own buddy! He was sure not happy about the fact that he had to work for a meal and a living! This all happened yesterday.... I went back today, and this young was still perching... but free meals are really over.

Even after falling down, life still sustains on the bark of this tree. It will keep providing nutrients and allow life to grow until it can. Such a great example for human life. Keep helping the ones in need.

While walking around I saw this spot and I knew it will need telephoto lens. I had wide angle lens on my camera and it was pretty muggy, ground was wet and I was more inclined towards using the tripod. I pondered for a few minutes and then started heading back. After about 100 paces I said to myself, are you coming back here soon? Since the answer was no I turned back and again reached to the previous location. It started to drizzle and I started to lose my optimism but very soon it stopped to rain. I eventually gave up the idea of using the tripod, made haste and swapped the lenses. Eventually took this handheld shot.

I got the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 lens to test and found it to be pretty darn sharp. This image will prove it. One thing to note is I had to do manual focusing using the live screen, which is not a bad thing and actually gives you much more control and where you really want to focus.
