Ejemplar de Colibrí brillante coroniverde hembra (Heliodoxa jacula)
El brillante coroniverde o diamante frentiverde (Heliodoxa jacula) es una especie de ave apodiforme de la familia de los colibrís (Trochilidae), que se encuentra desde Costa Rica hasta el occidente de Ecuador.
Se encuentran en los bosques muy húmedos, desde la parte intermedia del sotobosque hasta lo alto del dosel, entre los 700 y 2.000 m de altitud. Realiza migraciones altitudinales.
La hembra mide 12 cm de longitud y pesa 8 g. Presenta una mancha blanca detrás del ojo y una lista por debajo del ojo. Tiene cola negra y levemente bifurcada, con una pequeña mancha blanca en la punta de las timoneras externas. Por debajo es blanca con abundantes manchas en el costado. Los ejemplares juveniles son más opacos y bronceados por debajo y los machos en la corona, y con un matiz extenso canela o ante en la garganta.
Su llamado es un chirrido fuerte kyew.
Se alimenta principalmente del néctar de las inflorescencias de enredaderas del género Marcgravia las cuales el macho a veces tiene que defender. También se alimenta de las flores de Heliconia, Drymonia y otras flores grandes. A diferencia de otras especies de colibrí, casi siempre se posa para comer.
El nido es una copa voluminosa de fibras vegetales y escamas de helechos arbórescentes Montado en una rama pequeña inclinada. La hembra incuba sola dos huevos blancos de 16,5 por 11 mm.4.

The house was built 1891, to a rich trader Ubaydulla Xoʻjayev from Buxoro who exported coats of Karakul sheep resident in Uzbekistan to Russia. Here lived till 1925 also his son Fayzulla Xoʻjayev who had prepared together the opposition against emir Alim Khan with the Bolshevik and became after his escape of 1920 chairpersons of the council of ministers of the new-founded People's Republic Bukhara.
The Xoʻjayev house exists of different wings grouped around an inner courtyard in which residential rooms, sleeping rooms and stock rooms were. The house a porch has to the inner courtyard in the form of Iwan with a wooden roof supported by slender columns.
Under the living rooms are particularly lifted out a winter room with a big stove and a spring room whose windows are especially high. In the main tract lies the white hall which is decorated richly with coloured mural paintings. He served for the receipt of guests and for the celebration of parties.

Fantoba, una de las pastelerías más antiguas de Zaragoza
La pastelería Fantoba es uno de los comercios con más solera de la ciudad. Por historia, y por los productos que allí venden. Situada en la calle Don Jaime I desde mediados del siglo XIX (cuando fue bautizada como ‘La Flor del Almíbar’ en alusión a uno de los dulces que allí vendían. Fantoba es una de las pastelerías más clásicas de la capital aragonesa. La tienda ha permanecido prácticamente inalterable desde que fue inaugurada en 1856 por los hermanos Fantova, conservando la preciosa fachada en madera creada por el arquitecto Ricardo Magdalena en estilo neoegipcio.
Y si su exterior es una maravilla, el interior de Fantoba sigue esa misma línea, con estanterías en madera de roble flanquedadas por columnas, mostradores de mármol… Además, en Fantoba también conservan el instrumental de elaboración de dulces, como la piedra negra de Calatorao, con la que todavía se sigue haciendo elaborando el guirlache en su obrador.
Entre las creaciones dulces que podemos ver en escaparates y mostradores, hay que destacar las frutas de Niza, los macarons, las Frutas de Aragón, las pastas de té, su deliciosa selección de bombones y trufas, o las tartas artesanales y los hojaldres, sin olvidarnos de postres típicos de determinadas fiestas, como el Roscón de San Valero, el tradicional guirlache, o los turrones artesanos.

Just outside Bukhara lies Sitorai Mokhi-Khosa, the summer residence of the last emirs. Built in the late 19th and early 20th century, it blends local Bukharan design with Russian and European elements — especially visible in the side buildings and guest quarters.
According to local stories, Emir Alim Khan had fallen in love with a Russian aristocrat. Hoping she would one day join him, he designed part of the palace in a European style to make her feel at home. She never came, but the result is a striking architectural fusion that reflects the Emir's hopes and the complex crossroads of his time.

Luftwaffe (German Air Force)
This aircraft was used by the NVA (East German Air Force) as a VIP transport wearing registration DDR-SEP and full Interflug colours. After the reunification of Germany, the previously West German Luftwaffe took over this airframe and its sister ships DDR-SEN and DDR-SEV. In 1994 it was sold to Alim-Air Lines, Usbekistan, as UK-86934. The Il-62M ended up stored as SU-ZDA at CAI.

While capturing this picture, a famous song of the Greatest folk musician of Bangladesh - Abdul Alim came to my mind. The song, titled "Sob Shokhire Par Korite", was featured in the movie "Shujon Shokhi", which was equally got popular in the era of black and white movies in Bangladesh.
A literal translattion from the opening of the song is like -
"To cross the river by my boat, I will take penny from everyone else. But for you, Oh my dearest friend, The price is your precious ear-ring."

This pic was taken on a roll of Konica APS film; the first (and thus far only) roll of Konica film I've used. And based on how the roll turned out, it'll probably be the only roll of Konica film I shoot. I had to edit this pic to make it look this good, and this ain't good. And yet I persist with APS, because the first few rolls I shot in 2020/2021 did turn out good, and I'm still chasing that.
Anyway, today was the first really warm day in Toronto this year, and I went for a walk and shot an entire roll of AGFA APS film. It was nice to go out in a t-shirt and shorts for the first time this year. I saw several northern pike hovering just below the surface in the lake; I guess it's the time of year.
