Sifting through some old shots, I came across a few shots taken on an early morning stroll through the University of Chicago campus. I finally got to process a couple, with this one being Ryerson Hall. Now while it says on the building that is a laboratory, I have no clue what it houses currently. I don't often venture in to these buildings during normal hours and don't have access to them after hours, so I'll be left with my imagination as to what occurs behind these spooky doors.
Alchemists searched for a formula to change iron to gold. This plant in my garden changes raindrops to silver? L.O.L.
The Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge is a 4.5 kilometer / 2.8 mile long metal Cantilever (suspended deck) Warren Through Truss two lane bridge with a two span arch over the American Soo Locks and a single span arch over the Canadian Sault Canal. It was designed by the New York architectural firm of Steinman, Boynton, Gronquist and London; the bridge opened October 1962. The bridge spans the St. Marys River and connects Sault Ste. Marie Michigan to Sault Ste. Marie Ontario. The 120 kilometer / 75 mile St. Marys River drains Lake Superior into Lake Huron. Standing in Ontario, Canada, looking across the border into Michigan, the United States.
A five second exposure captured with a Fuji X-E1 + XF 55-200mm and a three stop, Hoya NDX8, solid neutral density filter. Processing alchemy with Nik Collection Dfine 2 and Color Efex: alchemy with Nik Collection Dfine 2 and Color Efex: tonal contrast and reflector efex. Finished with Apple Aperture.
Some quality of discernment occurs in everything in the cosmos although we are often only aware of such qualities in humans and certain animals. These other consciousnesses or intelligences consolidate archetypes which create those “forms” which are the collective memories of genetic awareness which guide evolutionary development.

Psychologist Erich Fromm maintained in his book The Art of Loving that love is not merely a feeling but is also actions, and that in fact, the "feeling" of love is superficial in comparison to one's commitment to love via a series of loving actions over time.
In this sense, Fromm held that love is ultimately not a feeling at all, but rather is a commitment to, and adherence to, loving actions towards another, oneself, or many others, over a sustained duration.Fromm also described love as a conscious choice that in its early stages might originate as an involuntary feeling, but which then later no longer depends on those feelings, but rather depends only on conscious commitment.
