edit: It's been brought to my attention that there is actually a performer called Blood Orange. This is not him. Clearly. This is an imaginary drill album featuring an imaginary performer of the same name. .

This is the album cover. The first thing you'd see if you looked for this CD on the shelves. Hand-drawn and digitally painted.
I did this album design front back and center-- A freelance job for a "local" band, this work illustrates my ability to work with a client, work under pressure, and make something unique and wonderful.
The band is called "The Afternoon Round," and they are a Michigan band... they have a fun assortment of good music that I dig, and one of the bandmates is a friend of mine.
I am quite pleased with this work.

Album design and cover illustration for a collection of music from The Hobbit & The Lord of The Rings trilogy performed by The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
For this release I wanted to capture more of the folky/fantasy elements to Tolkien's work than that of Peter Jackson's big screen adaptation. For this I decided to be a little obscure with the imagery, hinting at, rather than spelling out, some key aspects to the tales of Middle-earth.
The idea for the cover illustration came to me while re-watching the opening scenes to "The Fellowship of The Ring" whereby Gandalf creates an apparition of a ship from his pipe smoke. From here I began toying with the idea of creating a detailed image and hiding subtle elements within it.

Saved airport tickets and photobooth photos are great for this type of album
Since the taken of the photo's on the 29th Jan 2011 of a good friend of mine that did a tandem sky dive i needed to find some were to print my photos but were i could use my own designs as full A4 pages and not the ones were places on the web only offered there own templates. After looking on the web for places that might offer this kind of service i decided to make my own photo album that way i could use my own custom designs which i had made.
here is now over 300 photos made in to a 100 page photo album designed using Adobe Photoshop CS5 & lots of coffee lol

I had a photographer fan girl moment yesterday. The doorbell rang and I squealed True story. I had been tracking my sample album and knew that it would be arriving today. I was beyond excited to hold the sample album of Nicole + Tom's wedding that I had designed with the help of Align Album Design & KISS Books.
Seriously. If you don't full on enjoy album design, go chat with Align. They are genius. And KISS is just the most luxury leather wedding album out there.
I have one sample album already. The stunning 8x8 leather in the colour Amalfi Coast, which I felt matched my brand perfectly. It blew my mind and I just wanted to show it off to the world. It has done it's job until now. KISS has made so many new developments the last few months that I knew I needed to get something even more mind blowing, with what they can now do. I wanted to also jump for something out of my comfort zone that I wouldn't usually get.
I hadn't REALLY looked at that swatch before. One day Aquamarine caught my eye, and I said "THAT'S what I need!" I had just received Nicole + Tom's images back and was so proud of it. So I jumped and bought the most luxurious 10x10 with cameo window and engraving. I want my couples to see what difference the size mades. This piece is just a thing of beauty.
