This is one of my favorite Aladdins in the entire cast. Which is what made it all the more awesome/special when he recognized and stopped me as I was walking through Hollywood Pictures Backlot and said Hi. I'm so appreciative to him for making an ordinary trip to the Disneyland Resort so memorable, and I couldn't possibly thank him enough for making my 99th viewing of Aladdin A Musical Spectacular so awesome.

Principal frontage of the former Aladdin Lamps factory built in 1931. After the factory closed, the main manufacturing area was demolished and the offices incorporated into a B&Q superstore. This has now closed too.
When in the area we were told we HAD to stop into Aladdin and peruse the General Store. Aladdin population is 15 and sits at an elevation of 3750 feet. The store was packed with stuff including antiques, food, clothing and other treasures. Worth the stop for its uniqueness.
I don't think Aladdin was Chilean, or that he collected old steam locos, but if, so his house might look like this semi-round one.
There are plenty of locos that time forgot around the FCAB and Ferronortracks at Baquedano, including old dead diesels, and a bunch of ex-Queensland Rail 21xx and 22xx diesels in various condition.

Complete with desert sands and themed items, as seen in the Disney movie (Aladdin),now a day house of Aladdin brings the classic Disney hero to life again in Kuwait.

I hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is having a great holiday season. I have been insanely busy and need to apologize for being very scarce around here. One year after his death, David Bowie is gone but not forgotten. He lives on through his many colorful personas, including the one I chose to build, Aladdin Sane.
For Bokeh Thursday theme Disney. Didn't have any good Disney stuff, but as Aladdin is a Disney Film I used the only oil lamp I've got.
I tried to rub it and the Genie made everything blurred. See the shot below.

Original lamp that was installed at the Aladdin Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. This lamp was used from 1966 until 1976 when a new silver lamp was installed. Photo taken at the Neon Museum in Las Vegas during a "night photo walk" with many of the neon signs lit up, more of them to follow.
Night, zero moonlight, 30 second exposure, handheld lighting device set to soft white and numerous other lights all around.

Few days ago I found out that Disney is working on Aladdin. We might get few sets out of it, who knows :D
Aladdin' Magic Lamp
Met this gregarious lady who was serving Chaai at the Tabo Monastery. She told me that it was a charity & volunatry service that she was offering for the Almighty. She laughed about the cold air & how serving hot tea helps her keep her warm. I asked her what was she prayed for the most?
The woman thought pensively, then glanced at my camera, rubbed it gently & said: take a photograph of me & remove my wrinkles & make me beautiful.
The Allaudin's Jadaauyi Chirag (the magic lantern) & the Genie within took a photograph all by itself & whispered to her: "You are the most beautiful woman & that shows in the way you selflessly serve all who come here!"
She smiled from her eyes on seeing the photograph & offered me another cuppa tea.
Strobist: 1 SB-600, snooted, left and a little behind lamp. Fired wirelessly with on-camera flash.
Gold reflector and gobo on the right.
Focus stacking to get the lamp as sharp as possible (5 shots, f/2.8)

This was taken a couple months ago and has been in the queue for a while. This was one of the images choosen by this Jasmine as one of her favorites from that day . I tend to prefer the serious or more intense looks.
This Aladdin's Lamp decoration was on a Christmas tree at the Anvil Theatre in Basingstoke to coincide with the Aladdin pantomime showing at the time.
Aladdin is a classic Middle-Eastern story that has captured many hearts. It's one of the most famous tales linked to One Thousand and One Nights (commonly referred to in English as The Arabian Nights), even though it wasn't in the original collection. This gem was introduced by the Frenchman Antoine Galland, who borrowed it from a folk tale he picked up from the Syrian storyteller Hanna Diyab.
In the tale, Abanazar pulls a fast one on Aladdin, convincing him to grab an ancient lamp that holds a mighty secret. The wicked wizard masquerades as a lamp merchant and tricks Jasmine into giving up the old lamp. Abanazar then employs the Genie of the Lamp to teleport the palace and everyone in it to the far side of the globe.
The inaugural performance of Aladdin as a pantomime took place in 1788 at Covent Garden. The version we recognize today is derived from Henry J Byron's burlesque, Aladdin, or the Wonderful Scamp, which graced the Strand Theatre stage in 1861.
The cast of Basingstoke's Christmas 2019 pantomime at the Anvil, who took a ride on the magic carpet as Aladdin, featured CBBC star Mark Rhodes for this year's festive production. The actor is best known for starring alongside his TV partner Sam Nixon in the BAFTA award-winning show Sam & Mark’s Big Friday Wind-Up and the recent Match of the Day: Can You Kick It. Mark is no stranger to the Anvil having previously appeared in 2015’s pantomime at the venue which was Jack and the Beanstalk.
This year's production featured Mark Moraghan alongside Mark, who played the wicked Abanazar, and Chris Pizzey returned to reprise his role as Wishee Washee. Mark Moraghan is known for his roles on an array of British television staples. He was Owen Davis in Holby City and has appeared in Emmerdale as Tim Richards, as well as Coronation Street, Brookside, Heartbeat, and Dream Team.
This year’s performance dazzled audiences with stunning views, gorgeous costumes, buckets of laughter, and a treasure trove of amazing surprises. This traditional pantomime was a genie-us way for everyone in the family to gather and have a blast together!
Aladdin ran at the Anvil from December 12 2019 until January 5, 2020.
