For Smile on Saturday - portray a fairy tale

Smile on Saturday: Portray a Fairy Tale

A trip down memory lane to the annual performance of my dance schools three years ago, based on the story of Aladdin. I'm glad this week's theme gave me the opportunity to go through the photos I hadn't uploaded yet. This was a special show for me because it was my second year in that school and my first show after years of not dancing. The year before, I had only taken adult ballet classes, but in June, seeing the pure joy of all the dancers, from the tiniest ballerinas to the teenagers and adults, made me want to go on stage again. I joined a modern class the next year, and was able to perform in "Aladdin". It is a wonderful dance school with a family feel (literally: some of the adults have their daughters dancing too) and, while being as rigorous as ballet and dance demand, the joy of dancing always prevails. I think it's visible in that picture of the two main characters.

Okay, sorry for giving so many details that are not even about the fairy tale itself (though I did upload other pictures of baby genies, tropical birds, snakes and other oriental scenes, for the context and mood), but I could talk about dance for hours!

This facet set reminded me of Aladdin’s Lamp. I tried rubbing it, hoping for a genie and three wishes, but all I did was give it a good shine.

Note its ALADDIN SANE not Ziggy Stardust.. The only difference is the makeup. Anyways from this era I recommend The Man Who Sold The World. And if you have listened to the song before which is your favorite version of it? Original, Nirvana or Midge Urge?

Again, speedo with Crisco.

"Aladdin Sane," released in 1973, is David Bowie's sixth studio album and marked his first release after achieving major success with "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars." It captures a transitional period in Bowie’s career with a mix of glam rock and experimental sounds, reflecting his experiences from a tour in America. As Bowie’s fame grew, he began exploring more avant-garde music which eventually led him to Berlin in the late 1970s. In Berlin, Bowie collaborated with Brian Eno to create his celebrated "Berlin Trilogy," which included the albums "Low," "Heroes," and "Lodger," noted for their innovative sound and departure from glam rock.

I did Relay for Life yesterday, It's a 12 hour, over night walk for Cancer. I got home at 7 am this morning and slept until 6:30 at night! There goes my saturday...

When doing this picture I clearly wasnt thinking because I drew the lightning bolt how I saw it in the mirror not realizing that it would come out backwards in a picture. blonde moment.

The most beautiful part of Gough's Cave is this much smaller 'Aladdin's Cave'.

Perhaps you would like to hear the tale? It begins on a dark night…

As Aladdin polished the old tarnished lamp a great smoke did issue forth...

This is one of my favorite Aladdins in the entire cast. Which is what made it all the more awesome/special when he recognized and stopped me as I was walking through Hollywood Pictures Backlot and said Hi. I'm so appreciative to him for making an ordinary trip to the Disneyland Resort so memorable, and I couldn't possibly thank him enough for making my 99th viewing of Aladdin A Musical Spectacular so awesome.
