This is the largets palm tree plantation IN THE WORLD!
It is located in Al-Qassim region of Saudi Arabia and spreads over a vast 54,000,000 (fifty four MILLION) square meters. That's more than 5000 (fife thousand) hectars. In other words, the size of a city!
It belongs to Saudi sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Rajhi, and currently supervised by his son Sulaiman.
The total number of palm trees in this large landscape is 200,000 palm trees that produce 45 different types of Arabian dates, eventhough the well-known types of dates do not exceed 15 in other plantations!
29,000 palm trees of the sum total is organically planted (no chemicals used) and the price for these dates can really skyrocket, if you know what I mean.
What's interesting though is that approximately 40% of the total production of dates goes to charities.
When I met with the agricultural Administration of the project they told me that Sheikh Salih's vision is for the production of this plantation to reach every Saudi house in need, and even outside Saudi Arabia since they recently got the "ECOCERT" certification, which allows them to export to other countries.
This is not All, though! This project is even listed in Guinness World Records as the largest palm tree plantation in the world.
The Agricultural Administration recently issued a book, or rather a guide, on how to handle palm farms projects, which is the result of more than a decade of hard work and experience, allowing farmers to have a better perspective for such projects and solving too many problems concerning this aspect, such as palm trees' parasites, irrigation plans and much more.
Despite the gigantic size of the project, it is not the only one. There several more across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but of course not of the same size.
From another point of view, dates have a very close relationship with the Arabian culture, especially in the Arabian Peninsula. Recent researches indicate that dates are complete meals and contain an extremely high value of nutrients.
It has been mentioned in the Holy Qur'aan , and In the Islamic tradition, Prophet Mohammaed -peace be upon him- had urged upon having seven dates on each morning, as they are good for the health and protect from lots of diseases.
This was taken during my visit to Al-Qassim region.

هذه هي أكبر مزرعة نخيل في العالم ! ... نعم ، في العالم ، حيث تمتد على مساحة شاسعه تقدر بـ 54 مليون متر مربع ، أي ما يعادل أكثر من خمسة آلاف هكتار ، وبمعنى آخر ، بحجم مدينة
يقع هذا المشروع في منطقة القصيم ، وتعود ملكيته للشيخ صالح بن عبدالعزيز الراجحي ، ويشرف عليه حالياً ابنه سليمان
ويحتوي المشروع على ما يقارب 200 ألف نخله ، تنتج أكثر من 45 نوعاً مختلفاً من التمور ، مع العلم أن الانواع المعروفة للتمور لدى المزارعين هي 15 نوعاً فقط
ومن هذا المجموع الهائل ، هناك ما يقارب 29 ألف نخلة تتم زراعتها عضوياً (بدون استخدام للمواد الكيميائية) ، وتعتبر من أجود أنواع التمور على الإطلاق ، كما أن أسعارها مرتفعة جداً
المثير في الأمر هو أن ما يقارب 40% من إنتاج هذا المشروع يوزع على الجمعيات الخيرية ، وعندما التقيت بأعضاء مجلس إدارة المشاريع الزراعية بأوقاف الشيخ صالح الراجحي ، اخبروني أن هدفه هو إيصال إنتاج هذه المزرعة من التمور لكل بيت سعودي محتاج ، وحتى تصديرها لخارج المملكة العربية السعودية كـ معونات
ويساعدهم في هذا حصولهم مؤخراً على شهادة (الإيكوسيرت) العالمية ، والتي تخولهم بتصدير إنتاجهم لخارج المملكة
الجدير بالذكر أن هذا المشروع تم إدراجه في كتاب جينيس للأرقام القياسية كـ أكبر مزرعة نخيل في العالم
كما أنه ليس الوحيد ، حيث يملك الشيخ صالح بن عبدالعزيز الراجحي عددا من المشاريع المشابهه في أنحاء المملكة ، إلا أنها ليست بهذا الحجم
وقد أصدرت إدارة المشاريع الزراعية مؤخراً كتاباً عن كيفية رعاية مشاريع النخل ، ما يعتبر ثمرة اكثر من عقد من الزمان من التجربة والعمل الجاد
ويحتوي الكتاب على نصائح مفيدة ومهمة جداً لكل من يهتم بالنخل ، وكل من يملك مزرعة للنخيل ، ابتداءً من الطرق الصحيحة للتعامل مع الطفيليات (او ما يعرف بـ سوس النخل) وحتى الطرق الأنسب لري النخل بدون الإسراف في المياه
من ناحية أخرى ، يعتبر النخيل من أكرم وأطيب الشجر ، حيث ورد ذكره في القرآن الكريم ، يقول عز وجل
" وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ "
-سورة ق ، الآية 10 -
كما أنه ورد عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أن تناول سبع تمرات من عجوة المدينه على الريق تقي من العين بإذن الله
ويقول الشاعر : كن كالنخيل عن الأحقاد مرتفعاً ، يـُـرمى بصخر فيلقي أطيب الثمر
ويقول صاحب السمو السمو الملكي الامير البدر بن عبد المحسن آل سعود في قصيدته المشهورة : يابنت أنا للشمس
"ومثل النخيل خلقت ، أنا هامتي فـــوق ،،، ما اعتدت انا أحني قامتي إلا بصلاتي"
كما أثبتت العديد من الدراسات الفوائد الغذائية الموجودة في التمر ، حيث يعتبر غذاء متكامل ويحتوي على كميات كبيرة وقيمة عالية من النشويات والسكريات

Before 240 years ago Nasser AlRajhi and his men digged this second largest well in the arabian peninsula by hand and its 15 meters depth…it's located in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the city of Qassim - AlBukairyah

One of the most important and beautiful landmarks in Hail, to the north of Saudi Arabia. The 17300 square meters Mosque was opened for prayers almost five years ago. It can fit 7000 men in the men's section and 1000 woman in the women's section. It has 56 domes and four minarets of around seventy meters high each.
With regard to the photo, I have tried several times to take a light trail photo of the area around the Mosque. I managed to take this photo and three others after around 20 failed trials., It was fun, though.
I am open for any suggestion or criticism.
It is obvious that the photo is a little bit tilted.

A fantastic Bugatti Veyron wich actually is one of the first ever produced Black/Red colored models.The car was foiled in Riyad-Saudi Arabia,and is now in Münster-Germany to get a new color for the next seson.
Hail is a small city in the middle of Saudi Arabia...evidently the present ruling family of ibn Saud comes from there...it is at 3300 feet elevation, and has spectacular mountain scenery all around...
