The Toll issue has been in discussion since the last two months. The MNS is demanding cancellation of all toll from state. Deputy CM #AjitPawar responds to these unrealistic demands made by the #MNS.

We need to understand who pays toll in the state. Two wheeler holders, bicycle riders, scooter- motorcycle riders don’t pay toll. Passengers who travel by auto, farmers who use tractor, bullock cart l don’t pay toll. As per the new policy, a ST bus will also not have to pay toll.

Therefore, around 90 percent citizens do not pay toll. The Remaining 10 percent who used four wheeler have to pay toll. Ambulance and fire brigade are also omitted from that. Government officials who use vehicles are also excluded from the list. At the end specific group pays toll and I want to make it clear that I am in favor of toll being reduced for that group too. The electronic media should not publish news saying that Ajit Pawar is in favor of toll.

We discussed the issue many times. You think toll should be cancelled in total. But If toll is cancelled, then it will be impossible to complete the projects with large budgets. Recently #NitinGadkari gave a statement that if they are in power the next term then they will definitely cancel toll. But that is unrealistic. The first toll in #Mumbai and the Pune-Mumbai Express highway was started by the Shiv Sena-BJP government. There are toll roads across the country. I am not in favor of these toll roads but I am unhappy that some political parties are trying to gain mileage by creating controversy on toll.

मा. उपमुख्यमंत्री अजितदादा पवार यांना वाढदिवसाच्या हार्दिक शुभेच्छा

NCP has started election campaigning in Ahmednagar. On this occasion, Deputy CM #AjitPawar grilled Sena- BJP alliance. He hit them by saying, ‘The five partners of Mahayuti are (Sena- BJP alliance) scarecrows.’

The five partners of Sena-BJP alliance always form the chain and raise their hands on stage. While raising hand they are even not aware how their dress is messed up. If any of them want to put down their hand it’s not possible because it is bounded in another one.

They went at Jaysingpur and took whip in hand, but they don’t know how to operate it. I doubt whether they have ever driven a bullock cart. They even don’t know whip has a flexible thong. They only know to put blanket on arm and take stick in hand for photo purposes only. They behave like scarecrow which are placed in open fields.

State Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the interim budget in Maharashtra Assembly. Overall the budget was a balanced one fulfilling the needs of both the urban and rural population. On this backdrop #AjitPawar is explaining the causes of budget deficits.

Food Security scheme was the prime focus of the interim budget. We gave more priority to that no one will remain hungry in state. Special attentions were paid on the employment, issues of women and health services.

This budget is surely with deficit. The major reason behind this 20 percent power tariff cut down for consumer across industry, agriculture, domestic and commercial. For this, State government has to pay around Rs.700 cores monthly as subsidy whereas it may cost Rs. 8 thousand 400 cores yearly. Therefore, this interim budget has seen with deficits.

The Maharashtra Cabinet has decided to allot Rs. 100 cores for the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International memorial in the Arabian Sea. However, #MNS Chief, #RajThackeray has demanded to use these funds to reduce the toll burden in the state. Deputy CM #AjitPawar responds to this free advice.

We decided to accept the policy for toll in the state. We will soon be introducing a new policy too. We have always worked for the citizen’s benefit and want to decrease any burden on them. At the same time, the cabinet’s decision to allot Rs. 100 cores to the Chhatrapati #ShivajiMaharaj International memorial is also final. Everybody has right to give their opinion, but we will follow our path.
