I pampered and nourished this plant for four years, this year I dug it up and put it in a pot and have now one flower head ,

Seems it was yesterday at Hampton Court Flowers Show. A bit late to show it but so many summer photos lagging behind in the archives still..

 

Cannot believe it is Autumn this weekend - have a lovely sunny one !!! Hopefully some nice photography as suppose to get sunny here at last, maybe tomorrow.. :)

 

Los agaphantus..

Plantas que forman grupos de varios individuos de tallos erguidos que sostienen grandes umbelas de flores en forma de trompeta.

 

• Familia: Liliaceae.

• Origen: Sudáfrica.

• Altura final: 1 – 1,5m.

• Exposición: Sol y semi sombra.

• Resistencia: Resiste temperaturas de hasta -15°C. Prefiere cualquier tipo de suelo fértil y con buen drenaje.

• Crecimiento: Suele demorar en florecer 2 o 3 años. Luego florecerá todos los años.

• Follaje: perecne

• Floración: Primavera y verano.

• Color: Azul intenso o blancas.

• Caract. ornamental: Se emplea en los jardines para emplear vistosos macizos, los vemos en muchas ciudades y como flor de corte. Apta para contenedores.

a very light colored flower but equally beautiful.

Agaphantus was considered a part of the Agapanthacea family untill 2003 when it was moved to the Alliaceae family. Since 2009 is considered into the Amaryllidaceae family.

sun was shining and a warmish breeze from the north..nor'wester would soon kick in. sitting outside, breakfast al fresco..I felt more secure in the backyard then inside. the birds didn't have their usual domestic, finally they had other things on their mind too. cats where a bit dazzed sticking close to me having breakfast al fresco too.

then I saw this spiderweb and it struck me...whatever life throws at you...just get on with as best as you can !
