In between my day job and photography I dabble in a small farming operation. This year I added GPS steering to my tractor which gave me some extra time up and down the field. Swissnex Brazil hosted the Ag Tech Valley event on innovation in agriculture with a focus on themes with potential synergy with Switzerland, such as smart farming, forest management, and sustainability. The program included presentations by entrepreneurs, researchers, and investors that make up the local innovation ecosystem in the city of Piracicaba, state of São Paulo. The event was part of the schedule of the Swiss delegation that accompanied the Swiss Minister of Economy, Johann Schneider-Ammann, who visited Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay in April 2018.
