••°°When my smile is being faded, you're the one who tickle my soul and make me smile again.

When my thoughts are heavy (because I think too much), you sit on my head and kick my thoughts away.

Thank you Aegis for becoming my ray of light. I really appreciate your dedication on me ❤️ °°••

---------===== You & Me =====----------

What day is it? And in what month?

This clock never seemed so alive

I can't keep up and I can't back down

I've been losing so much time

'Cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do, nothing to lose

And it's you and me and all of the people

And I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you

All of the things that I want to say just aren't coming out right

I'm tripping on words

You got my head spinning

I don't know where to go from here

Something about you now

I can't quite figure out

Everything she does is beautiful

Everything she does is right

What day is it?

And in what month?

This clock never seemed so alive

Got this ship on loan for some reason -- flew it out solo to one of the moons of Hurston -- Aberdeen. Ship is pretty huge got lost inside looking for bridge, but made it here safely.

Image from in-game Star Citizen: Alpha 3.0 PTU -- Heading to the moon called Daymar...will attempt to find a space wreck that was reported to be somewhere on this moon.

An image without words... except, I love it!

Have a good day and thanks for your visit, so very much appreciated, Magda, (*_*)

Under the aegis of Johan Maurits van Nassau (1604-1679), governor (1636-1644) of Dutch Brazil and patron of the sciences - see my www.flickr.com/photos/87453322@N00/45528232852/in/photoli... - Willem Piso, an Amsterdam physician and naturalist, was a member of a scientific expedition in Brazil between 1637 and 1644. There he described a plant which he called 'Saamouna', perhaps a native name. This tree or shrub was referred to afterwards as 'Saamouna pisonis' (=Piso's Saamouna).

When the English botanist Leonard Plukenet (1641-1706) described specimens of plants from North America he encountered one - our Aesculus pavia - which he identified (1696) with Piso's Saamouna. It is in fact a different plant. Later in 1720 Herman Boerhaave (1668-1738) named Aesculus pavia for the Leiden medical professor Petrus Pavius (1564-1617), founder of the first anatomical laboratory in The Netherlands.

Confused? Well, so was great Carolus Linnaeus, who gives both 'Carolina' and 'Brasilia' as Aesculus pavia's provenance. Of course, later scholars sorted out the confusion.

There's an amusing coda to this story. Wonderful Florida Ethnobotany (2004) gives a state of the art description of our Aesculus. A translation is given, too, of Plukenet's original Latin description; there 'Saamouna pisonis' is put into English as '"Saamouna" for fish'. Poor Willem Piso, deprived thus of a honorific specific! It is said here and elsewhere, too, that this Buckeye was used by native Americans as a poison to catch fish. I don't know if that's true, but it certainly can't be connected to Saamouna's 'pisonis'.

[Third installment in the Dreamscapes universe. I'm already working on two of the costumes for upcoming shoots for this series, and I'm really starting to get excited. There's nothing quite like diving headfirst into doing what you love.

HUGE props to Alex for being incredibly patient and tough for this shot. She endured wax dripping down her forehead and onto her eyelid (owie!), gawking horseback riders, and temperatures both hot and cold. Thank you for rocking this, Alex! <3

Between us there was silence, but it was a silence haunted unspoken words hidden in the subtle opening of an eye and the thin creases of the face - words that narrated the tale of our friendship. In our story it was always the two of us, traipsing across the country, chasing adventure, mapping out our own version of the world in our eyes. But it was always her aspirations that led us on this path, her dreams that guided our footsteps, and in order for me to truly play a part in our story I took it upon myself to be her protector. It was through her that I learned what it meant to take a breath, and so I spent each and every inhale and exhale making sure there was a smile on her scarred face. It was a job I took so seriously that I never would have thought I would fail.

Well I suppose I was lost somewhere, but I'm trying to head back on track now, so sorry to those I've neglected.

This is Sydney, a honest soul with a smile in her heart. Perhaps you'll see more of her, for it was a mystical day Neverland.

Orchard Swallowtail Butterfly (Papilio aegis) or large citrus butterfly is a species found in Eastern Australia and Papua New Guinea.

The male butterfly (adult) is black with an arc of creamy-white spots near the tip of each forewing. Each hindwing has a creamy-white patch and a single red spot, and there are many red crescents on its underside.

The female butterfly, as seen here, is brown to black, and the outer half of its forewing is whitish-grey. Its hindwing has a creamy-white patch, as well as a series of blue and red crescent-shaped markings. The female has a wing span of 140mm.

*Sound of a chair creaking, followed by a faint sigh.*

‘nother day, ‘nother destination. This whale of a vessel is prepped and ready for another jaunt through the cosmos. We’re flying to Likovent in three days’ time, where the locals expect yet another show of our "power. . .” It’s all theatrics! Hovering ‘bove the city like some lethargic asteroid while they cheer and wave as if it means anything!

Well, ‘ere we are, circling ‘round this horrid cave. Uhhg… I can’t even see the crowds from ‘ere, but I swear they’re more interested in the spectacle than what we actually represent. Can’t believe I have to don this ridiculously colorful uniform just to play the part of the grand captain— Gah! No one is goin’ to see me! They don’t seem to grasp that real strength comes from unity.

Finished the flyover and a “meet an’ greet” with the local leaders. Same ol’ song an’ dance. Huh. They compliment our ship, call us brave defenders, all while scheming behind closed doors. *Rubs beard.* I’ve ‘ad my fill of this charade. I should be strategizing and prepping for real threats, not playing nice with politicians who couldn’t find er’ way out of their castles and mansions if they tried.

Now we’re en route to our next destination—Yörm III. More local “impressing” to do. *Deep breath.* I can’t shake the feeling that we’re just spinning our wheels. We’ve got genuine threats lurking in the damned shadows, and here we are, flitting ‘bout like bees in a garden. *Chuckles darkly.* I miss the days of victories and glory instead of just showing off our metal.

As we prepare for ‘nother run around, I can’t help but feel like I’m just a glorified tour guide at this point. *Frustrated sigh.* But it can’t drown out the sense of frustration. I joined the damned CSF to make a difference, not to hop from ‘ne planet to the next, impressing locals who wouldn’t know real leadership if it buzzed in their ears. Tomorrow brings another flyby, and I’ll try to muster some enthusiasm, but the truth is, I’m just tired of all this toting ‘round.

SHIPtember 2024 Experience

I have wanted to participate in SHIPtember for several years now. It is always enjoyable to see the builds when September rolls around. I was excited to finally participate, however setbacks happened delaying the final product until today. I hope there is no penalty for being late. In any case, I finished the build, including everything from idea to presentation. Clocking in at 107.5 studs, this ship didn’t really have much of a plan coming in other than the framework shown in early images. As I went along, the build gained a personality of its own, ie - bees. Once I had the theme set, I ran with it - everything from the lettering on the side, beehive pinup, hexagon shaped emblems, and of course honeycomb and bees on the stand. It was a great reward to finish this project, setbacks and all, and in the end it will have a permanent place on my shelves.

Providence and Worcester Valley Falls based train PR-3 behind GP38-2 2006 (built new for the railroad by EMD in Feb. 1980) is 5 miles from Providence on their historic 1847 route between their namesake cities. Curving in from the right is the Amtrak northeast corridor mainline, the famed ex New Haven Shoreline route. This line was built as the Boston & Providence in 1847 as a new route into the city from East Jct. near South Attleboro, MA. Their original 1835 route traveled to East Providence where passengers and freight were ferried across the Providence River into downtown. From this point to Union Station the P&W and B&P was a joint facility. In 1892 the P&W was leased to the New Haven and a year later the former B&P (by then in the Old Colony fold) joined the growing empire and both routes now fell under the aegis of the same company.

In 1914 a massive grade separation and line relocation project in Pawtucket took place. This was about the eastern limits of the work and according to Edward J. Ozog's phenomenal Railroad's of Rhode Island site:

SS 156 was built to protect the east end of the line relocation at a place appropriately named Boston Switch. Switches and signals were operated by electricity. The plan of the tower was similar to SS 154 built at the same time at the west end of the relocation but adjusted for its location and orientation. The tower was reduced to short hours when the depression struck and it was closed in 1935 and its duties transferred to Woodlawn Tower. In 1937 the interlocking machine was sent to Bridgeport for use in SS 60.

Remarkably 84 years after its closure the brick and tile roofed pagoda style building still stands guard. Partially obscured by the catenary infrastructure in the foreground it is seen to the right of the boxcar in this image.

Based on Contemptor Dreadnough, Aegis modification serves as an elite bodyguard to those most honourable few who can afford such an expensive and sophisticated instrument of war. Aegis is equipped with advanced shield generators and enhanced reactor to power them, thus becoming the best guardian the whole Imperium can offer.

This is my own design, but it drives inspiration from some really cool fan arts and more recent Contemptor variants. I really like that in WH40K you can see both robust and plain "sledgehammers" right next to the most aesthetically appealing "scalpels" and both don't look out of the picture. I wanted to make a more complex and detailed variant of contemptor, it looks somewhat different, but I even like it more like this.

screen capture of my long range bomber made by Aegis - The Retaliator...not quite sure how I will use this once the PU gets here, but it's a very neat looking vessel, the interior is very detailed as well.

CSXT Middleboro based local B727 (now officially known as L007) led by GP40-2 6237 (blt. Feb. 1979 as BO 4335 in Chessie System paint) and two sisters are switching on the Myles Standish Industrial Lead. They will spot one reefer at Americold and pull one from Reinhart Foodservice at the end of track before coming back here to work the busy New England Waste Disposal transfer station whose lead track is in the foreground. This branch is accessed from Attleboro Junction at MP 8.6 on the Middleboro Secondary a bit over a half mile behind me here.

The Middleboro Sub is strange in that it is owned by MassDOT and dispatched and maintained by Mass Coastal, but CSX still operates it and serves the customers as the direct corporate successor of CR, PC, NH, and all the way back to the Old Colony Railroad. In fact this particular segment of line here on the Myles Stabdish was opened in 1836 by OCRR predecessor Taunton Branch Railroad making it one of the oldest rail routes in New England. Becoming a mainline for the Old Colony it survived as a secondary through route under New Haven aegis seeing its last passenger train pass shortly before the connection with the shoreline was severed at Mansfield in 1955 to make way for a highway grade separation project.. The tracks into Mansfield center lasted until about 1966 for freight service served from this end, but then were abandoned leaving only the present 1.5 mile stub still in use today up to the large industrial park.

This baby is the new armaments from Aegis Arms. The Jackal PDW is a PDW that is shorter than MP5A3 yet it has more firepower.

The Jackal PDW are fully ambidextrous, capable of switching ejection ports in minutes. Charging handle are also capable of quickly switched by pressing a special button on the latch.

It's mostly chambered in proprietary 10.37mm 'Komodo' catridge, named so because of it's Class III Armor Penetration and stopping power. It can also be chambered in common AR-15 Catridge such as .300AAC Blackout and 6.8mm SPC by changing the bolt and the barrel.

This weapon is currently still tested by SAS for adoption as primary weapon to replace the L417HC, which is now out of date and too cumbersome for CQB. Other special forces also shows interest in this weapon.

Credit to shockwave for the trigger (I can't stop using this thing. It's just so awesome) and the texture on the grip.
