I put this was a 1951 Chevrolet, I don't think it was a GMC they have a different grille. Note the name of the store, Rods Liquor. Pretty wild ride and a lot of fun to cruise around town in I bet. I have seen a few of these customized over the years. There is a Ford that goes to shows also and John Force had one made by Chip Foose that was a 1956 Ford School Bus.

The Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower, located in the bustling Shinjuku district of Tokyo, stands as a stunning symbol of modern architectural innovation. Completed in 2008 and designed by Tange Associates, this iconic skyscraper redefines Tokyo’s skyline with its sleek, cocoon-inspired design. Rising to a height of 204 meters (669 feet), the building's unique form and lattice-like exterior symbolize growth and learning, befitting its role as a vertical campus housing three educational institutions: Tokyo Mode Gakuen (fashion design), HAL Tokyo (IT and technology), and Shuto Ikō (medical training).

The tower’s architectural brilliance lies in its blend of aesthetics and functionality. The elliptical shape minimizes shadows cast on the surrounding area, while the glass and aluminum latticework not only enhances the building’s visual appeal but also reduces heat absorption. The structure is as environmentally conscious as it is striking, with design elements that prioritize energy efficiency.

What sets the Cocoon Tower apart is its departure from traditional block-like educational buildings. Its futuristic design represents Tokyo's constant push toward innovation and creativity. Situated amidst Shinjuku’s towering office buildings and bustling streets, the Cocoon Tower adds a touch of elegance and artistic flair to the urban environment.

Visitors can marvel at the tower from various vantage points in Shinjuku, making it a favorite subject for photographers and architecture enthusiasts alike. The Mode Gakuen Cocoon Tower encapsulates Tokyo’s spirit: a harmonious blend of tradition, progress, and visionary design.

This delivery truck was present at the 2011 Stowe Auto Show (Vermont). The restauration work on it is awesome. It's so rare to see commercial vehicule, even rarer to see a food delivery truck. The Stowe Auto show impressed me: well organized and so many beautiful cars !

Red Oak II is the brainchild of artist Lowell Davis who grew up in the "real” Red Oak, Missouri, about 18 miles northwest of the "new” Red Oak II.

This nice little "ghost town” includes a Phillips 66 station, an old schoolhouse, feed store, diner, town hall, jail, and several homes. Two buildings that were important in Davis' life are the blacksmith shop, where his great-grandfather once practiced his trade and the General Store, that was run by Lowell's father and where he learned to sculpt and paint. Both buildings were moved from the original Red Oak townsite. Situated throughout the property are numerous Davis sculptures and old vehicles. Frozen in time, a walk through Red Oak II is a vivid stroll through the past.

Advance Design was the name GM gave to their trucks from '47 thru '54. They were extremely modern by '47 standards but by '54 they were looking quite dated. With only minor changes thru those years, this one is a 1950 or older because of the left side cowl vent.

I'm not 100% pleased with this one because I couldn't figure out what to do with the window area. Whatever I tried looked wrong so I just left it.

For the background, I did a very tight crop of the fender area and then re-sized it for a 'tan' texture and used that texture over the front view of the truck and then that became the texture I used over the side view of the truck. To which I erased it over the truck.

The first, and only, major Advanced Design styling and engineering changes occurred with the 1954 models. These models featured a pleasing one-piece windshield, and all-new grille, new parking lights and a new steering wheel and

instrument panel.

Engineering advancements included the new standard 235.5 cubic inch OHV six cylinder engine producing 112 horsepower and 200 ft-LB gross torque. The full automatic Hydra-Matic transmission became an option for light-duty trucks. These trucks continued into 1955 and remained on sale until March 25, 1955 when all-new Early V8 pickup trucks were announced by Chevrolet.
